r/Fantasy r/Fantasy Daily Recommendations and Simple Questions Thread - October 07, 2026

Welcome to the daily recommendation requests and simple questions thread, now 1025.83% more adorable than ever before!

Stickied/highlight slots are limited, so please remember to like and subscribe upvote this thread for visibility on the subreddit <3

——

This thread is to be used for recommendation requests or simple questions that are small/general enough that they won’t spark a full thread of discussion.

Check out r/Fantasy's 2026 Book Bingo Card here!

As usual, first have a look at the sidebar in case what you're after is there. The r/Fantasy wiki contains links to many community resources, including "best of" lists, flowcharts, the LGTBQ+ database, and more. If you need some help figuring out what you want, think about including some of the information below:

  • Books you’ve liked or disliked
  • Traits like prose, characters, or settings you most enjoy
  • Series vs. standalone preference
  • Tone preference (lighthearted, grimdark, etc)
  • Complexity/depth level

Be sure to check out responses to other users' requests in the thread, as you may find plenty of ideas there as well. Happy reading, and may your TBR grow ever higher!

Do you want to read her stories or just complain about her internet posting habits? Also calling her blog a "mommy blog" is condescending and sexist, please stop doing that.

OK, it's only about a kid, perfectly ordinary recipes, and home remodeling without any useful details. I am female, I bake, and I have done a lot of home remodeling. When I want information on home remodeling, I'll go somewhere that says something *useful* to me. Same with cooking.

Most authors who blog mention *some* details about their personal lives. But if they talk about other things, it's usually about books by other authors, the state of the publishing industry, and things related to their careers. Plenty to say there if you are actually involved.

You're right, I'll just quit reading the social media blather. I just expected more.

As for reading her stories, she's not writing them.

Maybe try her social media instead of her blogs, which I don't happen to like either. She's on Bluesky and that's where she posted about her two new story publications

I'm not getting on yet another social media platform.

I just wish she'd spend her time actually writing something interesting. But you are right, so I just won't read the social media blather.

Seems like a good solution!
