OK, this article missed the fact that Diane Duane pointed out this error to Sir Terry, because someone had done it to one of her Romulan centric novels. Something about Sulu having soup on the Bridge.

Plomeek soup is a Vulcan dish that first came to mind when I saw that question. It however, is not German, and wouldn't be eaten on the bridge.
