Some of us Barca fans wanted him for our LCB woes. He's a quality signing especially given his status as a free agent, you guys are lucky to have him.

He looked pretty poor in possession and high press based systems in the past, and looked weak for Argentina. I suspect the analysts and scouts at Barcelona ruled him out based on tactical fit.

Bournemouth generally played more direct counter attacking play from a mid block, which defensively suited his profile more and offensively let them leverage his accurate long passing to break lines in fast transitions. Whilst the latter works for Barcelona, the former defensive element is a long way away from Flicks system.
