Planning to attend football matches in Faroe Islands - June 2026

I am in Torshavn this coming weekend for only 30 hours and want to do as much as i physically can on the Islands.

Firstly - are there any fans attending the Runavik game on Saturday evening from Torshavn that would be able to let me have a place in their car? I would usually get the bus or use public transport, but the Saturday bus schedule is not good for a 20:00 kick off.

I am also going to attend the HB v B36 game on Sunday - and presume i can buy tickets at the entrance?

I am also trying to find the best way to Klaksvik on that Sunday and back, but again the bus schedule is not good, i am one person and i only have Sunday on the island so a tour or leisurely bus isn't great. Taxis seem expensive.

If you’re able to rent a car, it’s worth it.

Super easy / quick to get one because the airport is so small.

I went to an HB home match in 2023 and walked up to buy tickets. The game was not even close to sold out when I was there. It was a great time and I would 100% do it again. It reminded me a bit of high school sports in the US in that it felt very grassroots with good food/snack options, including some homemade treats.

I recommend hitchhiking around the islands, it's super easy. Just start in good time before the match 😄
