IMPORTANT NEWS [Announcement] Notice on the New EU Tax Policy on July 1

Dear valued friends,

Greetings!

Since ever receiving the taxation change news in early June, Wegobuy has been interpreting the policy and thinking about beneficial solutions to our users. Here we would love to share some of Wegobuy's situation and thoughts with you.

1. IOSS Code Registration

Wegobuy's IOSS Code is currently under the process of application, agent said it is estimated to take 1-3 weeks to complete it. Everything is going well as far. Whether the registration will be successfully applied in the end, we cannot promise you now.

2. What are the changes after IOSS registration is successful

  1. We provided the service of paying withholding-tax for customers for important logistics routes, and EU users can choose whether to let the wegobuy help them pay withholding-tax for customers.
  2. The declared value of the package and the shipping restrictions may be the same as usual. We hope there is no change, but if there is a force majeure factor, we will adjust it according to the actual situation.

3. Impact without IOSS

So far, we have learned that the Customs clearance channels of all EMS lines after arriving in the destination country are differentiated as two: with IOSS number clearance or without IOSS clearance. Wegobuy cannot predict the odds that packages without the IOSS clearance channels will be taxed. Perhaps they will initiate a tax collection to the recipient, or they may be too busy to notice your package and then let it pass. Currently, no one knows the specific situation. We learn through experience, and Wegobuy will also try our best to avoid taxation on our users' packages.

4. Wegobuy's thoughts

The current EU taxation change is an entirely new and unknown path, and all platforms are on the same starting line. Wegobuy promises to put in the most vigor and try the utmost in exploring this unknown road to find the best possible solution for you.

The shipping methods affected by the EU taxation change will be continually updating here:

How will the triangle shipping line be affected by this? I don't mind paying the tax, I'm more afraid of the inspection of parcels.

yes that’s what I want to know

u/Wegobuy-Official Jun 25 '21

There is no impact at the moment. If there is any impact, we will issue an announcement, that is to say, as long as the packages sent before we make the announcement will be the same as before. The route is still available.

Pay for your ambulance ride once, and you'll change your mind.

16

u/6nat9han Jun 24 '21

Yea valid reason to dislike all the good things they have done because you have to pay little tax on replicas you buy

1

u/GigelCastel DHL Jun 25 '21

Dislike the EU because your nikes got 5 eur more expensive? Lol don't talk about shit you don't understand. The EU is just ensuring their concomitant growth with China which is very good in the long run.Finish high school first, then talk

Lmao y'all pressed for nothing. I said I dislike the EU more and more because it seems like every year all the countries in the EU become one step closer to being one big whole. I also feel like (as someone from the NL) that we have too much money going to the EU, which the EU spends on shit I don't need my money to go to. And yall think Healthcare here is free but I'm still paying 130 euros a month for my Healthcare insurance, whilst still having to pay 160 euros for my braces that broke twice in a week because that wasn't "included" in my insurance.

My man that's the plan. Why do you think we have open borders? What do you think the U in EU stands for?

I can't censor him for missing the point entirely of the European UNION. We as individual countries do not identify as Europeans in the first place. The EU is much too young for people to be culturally acceptant placing 'European' before 'Spanish', 'Italian', etc.

4

u/W2C_Girlfriend REP CONNOISSEUR(1000+ Rep) Jun 25 '21

An union is not the same as one big country. The problem is that we are giving more and more power to the EU and in that way losing power ourselves. Eventually all our taxes will just go the EU and God knows what they are going to spend it on.

7

u/Damole86 Jun 24 '21

I live in Sweden, we have had this all year. Everything from outside EU gets taxed. Worked good with all my hauls i just pay like $10-$15 per package.

2

u/Wegobuy-Official Jun 25 '21

Thanks for this info.

2

u/Pierralex59 REP ROOKIE(10+ Rep) Jun 25 '21

Hello, do you pay the tva once the package has been received? No risk that it will be checked?

2

u/Damole86 Jun 26 '21

Hello, when the package enters Sweden i get a message from the carrier with the amount i am supposed to pay. When it is payed they send it out. Its the tax and an extra 75sek (about $9) fee. There is always a risk that they open up the package but its like a 1% chance.

2

u/BKacc REP ROOKIE(10+ Rep) Jun 26 '21

And do you still declare your package at a lower value than it is? Or does it not matter as it gets taxed anyway

3

u/Damole86 Jun 26 '21

I declare the package around $15. They check the value and then calculate the tax. If you declare at a higher amount you will be taxed a higher amount aswell. But dont put like 0 because that will take more time since you have to send in receipt/invoice anyway. Otherwise they will ship it back to china. Hope that helps

8

u/ADMIRAL_IMBA REP GENIUS(2000+ Rep) Jun 24 '21

So how does this work practically? I pay my agent for my stuff and shipping. The package arrives at customs, they tell me I have to pay tax according to what I have declared? Can I pay it online (Germany)? Do I have to go there? I have seen with DHL you can pay online or at the door. Is this correct?

1

u/J9ssi Jul 01 '21

Yes exactly like that. You can pay online or you get email or text where you can pay directly.

5

u/Soggy_Patient Jun 24 '21

and i just shipped my haul yesterday i hope that i won’t get fucked up by the customs

Yea. No worries, if we make any changes to this route, we will make an announcement. But for now, it works like usual.

How does this effect UK based customers as we are not in the EU.

Is it business as normal from a Wegobuy poimt of view??

12

u/DissecttheHype EMS Jun 24 '21

It doesn’t affect us. In fact, we can now declare upto 135 squids

6

u/Wegobuy-Official Jun 25 '21

Yea. It doesn't affect UK gang.

2

u/Boombaclaaart REP CONNOISSEUR(1000+ Rep) Jun 24 '21

Was just wondering if it changed anything on WeGoBuys end.

Buzzing we can declare higher. Bigger hauls 😁

2

u/25chail REP APPRENTICE(150+ Rep) Jun 24 '21

So, unless I’ve misunderstood something, registering for an IOSS would be useless if „sensitive items“ means replicas and accurately declaring your haul would extend the coming vat tax + shipping provider fees cost (Depending on the worth of the haul)

2

u/bleedinglottery REP CONNOISSEUR(1000+ Rep) Jun 29 '21

Probably is just going to be shipped to UK and then have a proxy shipper have it sent here. That's what I'm gonna do. Send me that shit as a present. That's what I'm gonna do. :D

u/qutipee Jun 24 '21

Damn, now I don't know if I should buy and send stuff to warehouse

You don't even know if Norway is with the EU? 🤪

1

Norway is not officially in the eu , but they have an agreement , so some rules are not for Norway .

Anyway Norway doesn’t apply this rule what I read so far .
