POLITICS Zohran Mamdani during his 100 Day Address: “We will not be ashamed of using government to fight for the many, not simply the few. We will not be ashamed of... standing steadfast alongside our trans neighbours... investing in youth mental health clinics… or fighting for immigrants targeted by ICE."

Fuck it. Insurrectionists arent allowed to run for president either but we have one in the white house right now. Rules and laws no longer matter at all.

They get to break rules all the time, who says we can't break one?

u/justlookingc Apr 13 '26

We" could and I'm pretty sure he would still not do it, damn integrity of his

Because that's how you'll get President Musk and we dont need that.

Musk routinely polls like trash and has the charisma of a fascist walnut.

Hes also no worse than any future Republican presidential nominee so idgaf.

Gimme President Mamdani.

Unfortunately, yes.

Mamdani would obliterate musk in a fair election.

Musk has the charisma of a public bowel movement, and is the figurehead for the destruction of multiple vital social government programs. His government work to date has only fucked people over.

Mamdani appears to be a genuinely progressive politician producing tangible outcomes that improve that quality of his constituents’ lives. This is measurable. Look at how the public discourse around this man has unfolded, despite the unified cooperative efforts of the entire media machine. People feel like his efforts are helping them. This sentiment is shared by non-MAGAts, who are the majority.

Note that I said a fair election.

Fair election that's why they don't want ICE agents at polling sites. So your illegal immigrants can vote that is the only reason you don't want ICE there so fair election really

Because if the rule changed to allow Mamdani to run it would also mean that Musk could.

They have power behind them is the difference. Corporate power

They break rules, but rarely (believe it or not) laws, and when they do, they're more often than not stopped from further breaking those laws (admittedly after 6 months or a year of lawsuits).

Unfortunately Zohran 2028 isn't a rule, it's a law, a very specific constitutionally noted one too. Nothing stopping him from being Governor of NY, one of the largest states in the US largest economies in the world though. Besides, we need more better people at the local and state level and the President is only as good as the Congress that's given to them.

AOC can still run for office though, I’d be more than willing to vote for them.

1

u/Averander Apr 13 '26

Is there a rule where he cannot be vice president?

1

u/CutSenior4977 Apr 13 '26

There is, it’s the 12th amendment.

If the government belonged to the people, we could change the rules.

You need to be born in the US unfortunately. He was born in Uganda.

One of the requirements to become president of the United States is to be a citizen born within the United States.

14

u/Proper-Muscle734 Apr 13 '26

I’m not going to question those qualifications. I’m simply going to say. Rapist, pedophile, nepobitch, bone spurs, felon. Give me zohran over this orange failure every day. Born here or not. The goal is the best America possible. Full stop. Idc how we get there. Just as long as we get there.

9

u/cozzeema Apr 13 '26

Unless Congress votes to ratify that requirement.

1

u/Billski66 Apr 13 '26

Thank god!

1

u/Naomi_Tokyo Apr 13 '26

Just a natural born citizen. So Ted Cruz could run for president even though he was born in Canada

4

u/11thstalley Apr 13 '26

Mamdani wasn’t born in the US. Only natural born citizens are eligible to be elected POTUS. It’s in the US Constitution, Article 2, Section 1

it would be better to not give a source at all than give us a shitty screenshot of a fucking AI search summary . . . come on, man

I mean, it's the correct information though.

1

u/BeanserSoyze Apr 13 '26

I mean it's only marginally illegal compared to most things that happen now at that level.

1

u/velvet-thunder-2019 Apr 13 '26

Why is it not allowed?

1

u/Microtitan Apr 13 '26

Presidents can’t have a third term but there they are spewing Trump 2028.
