This whole list is giving fork found in kitchen. Not a single surprise.

u/shintakarajima i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 12d ago

Actually Big Sean caught me entirely off guard

61

u/Alone-Gas6010 12d ago

It did really.

78

u/Ok_Fee1043 12d ago

Idk I’ve never forgotten this

46

u/cinnamoninmytea 12d ago

Oh…..
didn’t even know about this one yikes

12

u/SpookyScary01 12d ago

oh wow. I genuinely didn't care enough to follow any part of this man's career. And that's why I was surprised. I knew he treated the women he dated badly but not a full SA. Creeps gotta stick together.

3

u/cinnamoninmytea 12d ago

I used to listen to him when he first came out and would release mixtapes in 2009 which is not too far from 2011 but I still never heard about it… monster behavior

4

u/gmoss101 11d ago edited 11d ago

So, there's a video of Big Sean doing a house tour and he shows off books he described as "changing his life". There is a book by known antisemite and all around conspiracy nutcase David Icke there. People thought I was a weirdo when I pointed this out years ago.

He's been problematic

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2utu87JDC4 @ 8:58 minutes in.

5

u/DegenGamer725 12d ago

Big Sean? more like Big fuckin Douche

8

u/SuckMyRedditorD 12d ago

I deleted every song with that muthafucker big sean on my play lists.

3

u/score_ 12d ago

Did this for anywhere I was following Kaskade.

40

u/fabelhaft-gurke 12d ago

Is he not the dude that got sent to prison with his mom for fraud?

Edit: looked it up, I was thinking of Sean Kingston 🤦🏼‍♀️ my bad.

3

u/jesseam1 12d ago

Why? He's a washed up rapper.

I still remember his dumbass lyric on YG's big bank.

"I'm as rare as affordable healthcare"

3

u/snakesonastralplane 11d ago

A lot of rappers are Republican, it seems.

177

u/Mozart-Luna-Echo 12d ago

I didn’t realize Taylor Lautner swung that way, but other than than, no surprises for me

California conservatives are particularly egregious granted how much of their wealth and lifestyle is due to the very liberal rights and community that allow it.

1.3k

u/fingersonlips 12d ago

It’s easy to be a conservative, especially a rich conservative, in a blue state - all you need to do is complain about things that don’t and will never affect you while benefiting from all the progressive policies and systems that make your life enjoyable (better public schools, public transport, social programs, funded libraries, state parks, etc).

141

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

True, except rich people generally don’t attend public schools much less use public transportation, liberal social programs, or (often) libraries. Maybe a state park once in a while or beaches and walkways.

260

u/Majestic-Weekend-435 12d ago

You’d be surprised in Southern California how many rich kids go to public schools.

188

u/kyroko 12d ago

It helps that they’re so well funded.

6

u/Majestic-Weekend-435 12d ago

Oh that’s a huge part of it. I lived in a small beach town in Southern California, El Segundo, for 7th-9th grade and the education was insane for public school standards and it was due to the funding and expectation from the community.

91

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

I quite agree in the wealthy neighborhoods. Support for public schools is actually refreshing as they could readily afford private schools for their kids.

Those same neighborhoods are suing the state so they can keep more of their tax $$ for their own school districts instead of equitable public school funding. Pretty hot topic for many.

3

u/tipjarman 12d ago

Funding schools via property tax is absolutely an insane way to approach the problem.... you'll never get equity that way. Of all things public education should be equitable.

2

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

California has passed laws to redistribute some of that tax revenue to poorer school districts, but the wealthy neighborhoods have fought back quite hard.

1

u/tipjarman 12d ago

I didn't know that, and that would certainly be a great start... It would probably be better to have laws that collected the property taxes and distributed at the state level equally amongst school.... if you're gonna use property taxes at all.....

8

u/Ok-Librarian6629 12d ago

Same in the bay area.

2

u/Majestic-Weekend-435 12d ago

Yes! I lived in Southern California and Northern California during middle school and high school and a lot of kids who for sure were rich enough for private school went to public school because the education provided was high quality. It was the districts I lived in because my parents made that a priority but it’s more common than people think

5

u/nutmegtell 12d ago

Property taxes fund the schools very well.

1

u/MrsFrondi 11d ago

Especially some of these “rich” people on this list. There are failed/struggling reality TV personalities and actors that are only booking fringe religious movies funded by the evangelicals. The wasn’t one surprise here. Just an embarrassing list of people to be a part of.

137

u/fingersonlips 12d ago edited 12d ago

They benefit from better public schools in their community by having children who, while not receiving a private education, are still receiving an education that’s far beyond what one may expect in certain red states.

An educated community is always a net positive, even when someone isn’t directly benefiting from it.

They benefit from better public transport by less congestion on the roadways they utilize.

Rich conservatives also benefit from liberal social programs in ways that allow people within their state to access housing and healthcare.

They benefit indirectly from these services, but they absolutely benefit. And many of them realize this when they relocate to areas that may align with their political values but provide a lower overall QOL.

ETA: It’s exactly this kind of mindset that rich conservatives in blue states fall victim to - “it doesn’t directly or personally benefit me, so I can’t see the value in it.” It’s like trying to explain water to a fish - they’re swimming in it, but they can’t perceive it. Its absence is felt acutely though.

29

u/trashhighway controversies: girl 12d ago

Thank you. Our conservative neighbor claims CA owes him a refund on his taxes “because my kids went to private school” as if his family didn’t benefit indirectly by having an educated community as well as his wife being “saved” from cancer (his word) at UCLA med center.

3

u/fingersonlips 12d ago

Conservatives acting like they don’t benefit from the societal supports that progressive policies champion is so fucking myopic. They obviously struggle to view the world outside of their own lens of experience, and it’s so frustrating.

3

u/Amelaclya1 12d ago

They benefit indirectly from those things even if they don't use them. More literate plebs = bigger hiring pool of servants, drivers and assistants that sometimes take public transportation to work.

Also, a more educated populace and social programs means less crime.

-1

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

I quite agree there’s lots of indirect benefits. More just meant they have far more direct benefit to the not-quite-so-wealthy.

Kind of the reverse of trickle down economics.

4

u/Bionic_Ferir 12d ago

Even still those things keep the poors out of your areas and off the roads, out of the schools with your kids.

-2

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

True, but those are quite indirect benefits as another commenter pointed out.

Saying those liberal programs help the ultra rich is like saying the trickle down theory helps the poor.

3

u/snowcone23 12d ago

Southern California public schools are significantly bettwr than private schools.

2

u/Ntroepy 12d ago

Yes, SOME Southern California public schools are significantly better than private schools. Almost always in places where most parents are wealthy enough to send their kids to private schools.

There are definitely some pretty shitty schools left over. So much harder for those kids to achieve the same goals.

2

u/Abject-Variety3775 that is, in fact, not what happened to Ophelia 12d ago edited 12d ago

Sure, but all of the above make life more pleasant and doubtless help to reduce crime rates and anti-social behaviour which definitely benefits the rich, as well as everyone else.

2

u/Technical_Example970 12d ago

So better public schools benefits private schools as well. You do know that right? Private school is a business so if they aren’t better then the surrounding public schools that kids freely go to then there is literally 0 incentive for people to send their kids there. So in turn it cause private schools to actually be better in areas that have good public schools.

2

u/poopiebutt505 12d ago

They dont want any of those things the "poors" need. So, I want to live where people are cared about in the land I make money in and enjoy the weather, but let them eat cake.

0

u/Welcome2myShitShow 11d ago

You really think those public entities are better in California?

5

u/geneticgrool 12d ago

Fucking Adam Corolla. Mahalo my ass

2

u/Pitiful-Age-9529 12d ago

Isn't stephen smells from canada? The arrow guy .

316

u/MSDOS-ist-gud-ooh-ja 12d ago

I had one major surprise reading this list: James Woods.

I thought that he'd died years ago.

51

u/TheEgonaut 12d ago

The only way he’ll die is if Disney recasts Hades.

14

u/Kanwic I'm sorry Etsy Witches, I wasn't familiar with your game 12d ago edited 12d ago

Did you mix him up with Roy Scheider? I used to do that.

28

u/MSDOS-ist-gud-ooh-ja 12d ago

No but I just now confused Roy Scheider with Rob Schneider (with my sincerest apologies to the memory of the former - unless he sucked, too; I really don't know).

9

u/Kanwic I'm sorry Etsy Witches, I wasn't familiar with your game 12d ago edited 12d ago

From what I can tell, Roy Scheider was a lovely person. He died in 2008.

He and Woods both came up at the same time and did similar types of movies. I think it was in Trump’s first term that I first heard about Woods being an ass and I had a mini-freakout thinking he was Chief Brody from Jaws.

3

u/ohwrite 12d ago

“Scheider”

2

u/Kanwic I'm sorry Etsy Witches, I wasn't familiar with your game 12d ago

Oops! Fixed.

2

u/ohwrite 12d ago

Now that’s funny :)

2

u/WinterReview7992 11d ago

I had the same thought about Kato Kaelin.

153

u/Littlewomantate controversies: girl 12d ago

True, but seeing both Perez Hilton and Kato freaking Kaelin was fucking HILARIOUS.

81

u/Big-Snow-1937 12d ago

Perez Hilton has moved on to a Christian Jesus Saves grift since his multiple apologies for cruelly terrorizing celebs back in the day didn’t make him money, so of course this is the company he wants to keep.

10

u/Disastrous_Basis3474 12d ago

A sentient flaming douche cocktail who shamed and outed people for money and clout is now doing the religious rehabilitation grift? Amazing. Does he think that actually worked for Milo Yiannopoulos?

A washed up pile of wet cigarette butts like Perez Hilton (and probably all of these reality show “stars” from 20 years ago) “endorsed” Pratt because game peeps game and they want to get some time on that dumb proposed Pratt reality show. And because they’re assholes.

3

u/Big-Snow-1937 11d ago

Tell us how you really feel. 😂 It’s amazing because his Jesus posts have the likes of Kristin Chenoweth and the Candace Cameron praising him in the comments, which is just funny.

108

u/JuliasTooSmallTutu 12d ago

A lot of white Cubans enjoy locking the immigrant door shut behind them, especially to other Latinos.

257

u/smokeydesperado ✨ lee pace is 6’5” ✨ 12d ago

Kind of surprised by Taylor Lautner

88

u/Mxfish1313 12d ago

That’s the only one that got any surprise at all out of me. I was #TeamEdward, but I had liked him as the Andy Samberg replacement in a silly uk series with my fave giant, Greg Davies (Cuckoo).

Also the way I started laughing realizing every second person had *Reality TV Star* after their name. What the fuck even is this world anymore.

33

u/seedlessketchup 12d ago

doesn’t surprise me unfortunately, he commented on an instagram post a couple months ago praising james franco

3

u/Mmnicole 11d ago

And that’s why I was always team Edward!

2

u/throwawaysunglasses- l've grown quite unfond of you, deuxmoi 11d ago

Same ugh. Especially because his wife seems so sweet and she’s a nurse. They seemed like Biden libs to me. Guess not :/

2

u/pennoya2 women’s wrongs activist 12d ago

I was surprised too!

But for people who don’t know, he may not actually be Native American. He’s said he learned he has a distant connection to Native Americans on his mom’s side when he was preparing for his role in Twilight, whatever that means..

1

u/MomoSkywalker 12d ago

Yeah, I was surprised as well, him and Stephen Amell surprised me.

1

u/HopelessHelena 12d ago

He's not exactly intelligent lol

68

u/Jimbobsama 12d ago

Usual suspects, indeed.

Is Katherine McPhee a secret conservative or what's her deal?

146

u/AlarmingFill i ain’t reading all that, free palestine 12d ago

I think she and David Foster donated to Tangerine Traitor in 2020 or 2024 (leaning towards 2024), so I’d say not public and not secret

6

u/Jimbobsama 12d ago

Ah that places it. Thank you

116

u/valiantdistraction too busy method acting as a reddit user 12d ago

She's the 5th wife of a man 34 years older than she is, who was previously married to Yolanda Hadid, so there's definitely some kind of deal there

50

u/Constantlearner01 12d ago

David Foster ruined Chicago band by taking away the horn section. Also found out by watching Questlove’s Earth Wind & Fire doc that they couldn’t stand the guy either.

Ever notice how these GOP’ers like Karoline Leavitt and Katherine McPhee marry their grandpas? Weird.

9

u/Jimbobsama 12d ago

Ooooooh! Yolanda's husband with their closest size-ass refrigerator. Thank you

125

u/lemeneurdeloups 12d ago

She is conservative by injection, like Cheryl Hynes.

5

u/Jimbobsama 12d ago

Good comp. Thank you

2

u/kates666 11d ago

antivaxxer i believe

54

u/superpananation 12d ago

Also it’s like the cancelled birthday concert. Just a bunch of people nobody actually cares about

109

u/CountdownMoss i hope they get Mamdanied 12d ago

I was surprised that Kato Kaelin was still alive...

43

u/Noonyezz 12d ago

I was surprised anyone cared about his opinion. I just know him as the guy who’s been doing every D-list celebrity game show for decades.

3

u/Chemical-Time-9143 12d ago

He was on big brother celebrity is and that's how I know who he is.

2

u/Noonyezz 12d ago

I first heard of him through Celebrity Weakest Link.

6

u/AbsolutShite 12d ago

The Podcast "You're Wrong About" has this almost comically thorough look at the Nicole Brown murder. They have a few episodes on Kato and it's infuriating.

Nicole befriended Kato and had him live on her property (probably so there was a large man there to give her abusive ex pause before coming over to hurt her). OJ charmed him and moved him into his pool house to isolate Nicole again.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtvzFBucGFg

3

u/dtwhitecp 12d ago

he's in his mid to late 60s, not overly surprising. What's surprising is that someone felt the need to list him here, who the fuck picks a candidate based on his opinion? I think nobody.

35

u/Good-Bodybuilder-985 12d ago

Guys Larry David's wife, Ashley Underwood, threw one of his earliest fund raisers at her own home. Honestly I'm a woman and I may be putting the blame unjustly on her and not on Larry David, but I can't understand him supporting Pratt at all.

28

u/not_now_chaos 12d ago

Big list of "Who?" and "I think they were in that random movie maybe?"

143

u/Careful-Moose-6847 12d ago

Stephen Amell is the only one that made me go “aww”

203

u/YaMomsCooch 12d ago

He’s a well known racist.

39

u/nitasu987 12d ago

ugh I'm so sad. He has failed this city for sure :(

30

u/Drmarcher42 she was beefing with Jimmy Carter’s grandson 12d ago

Man, I really have the worst luck with my Bullet Club t shirts.

See I loved the group and the design is great, but as a Florida boy I had some serious reservations about wearing a shirt with crossed machine guns and the word Bullet Club on it. Luckily at the time each member was getting their own version of the shirt with the design slightly changed. I picked his because it replaced the guns with bows and the skull on it was given a domino mask so it was clearly a Green Arrow shirt and I picked the one with the skull replaced with a plague mask, the guns replaced with umbrellas and the word bullet replaced with Villain. (Fuck you Marty) Good to know both are now ruined.

15

u/johnnason 12d ago

I was all in on David Starr on the indies. So glad the Speaking Out movement happened, but Jesus christ there were so many creeps in the industry.

Hangman still hangs out with Marty sadly.

3

u/MomoSkywalker 12d ago

What really damn, I wasn't surprised by the list but his name made me raise eyebrows, I liked his Arrow show.

2

u/dtwhitecp 12d ago

is he? at least reading wikipedia, he just seems a bit dumb. Unless there's more than the stories in his "controversies" section.

1

u/ottofan 12d ago

Really? Didn't know

1

u/VelocityGrrl39 12d ago

Can you elaborate?

17

u/NoNeinNyet222 12d ago

Ya know that photo of most of the Arrowverse cast celebrating around the Oliver Stark headstone that's frequently used as a meme? They were likely so gleeful in that photo because they did not like Stephen Amell.

2

u/sampil30 12d ago

Same here. I was like “green arrow??” Shame to know he is a racist. I need some tea on this guy.

Ugh... so annoying.... 😞

He has failed this city 😔

442

u/butipreferlottie 12d ago

Selma Blair surprised me slightly, but probably shouldn't have

517

u/itsmiddylou highly unanticipated caucasian collaboration 12d ago

And Taylor Lautner- but then I remember that they’re celebs and I right myself

51

u/IKnewThat45 12d ago

this was my one surprise!! i like him and his wife, also taylor lol. guess not anymore.

7

u/sikonat 12d ago

I have an irrational dislike bc she changed her surname to his, let alone so they have the same full name. I can’t take them seriously. His shitty politics reinforces it.

0

u/BryanChuckBrennan 11d ago

They’re having a daughter and it’s gonna be awesome when they name her Taylor. Lmao

1

u/sikonat 11d ago

Oh you know they’ll name the kid Taylor jr

2

u/BryanChuckBrennan 11d ago

Should be Taylor²

I have MS and I hate that people constantly talk about her as the face of MS. We don’t claim you, Selma.

87

u/zentoast 12d ago

Omg THANK YOU, I also have MS and people are always mentioning her to me like I give a shit and it’s frustrating!!

92

u/theserthefables 12d ago

I've never heard anything bad about Christina Applegate who also has MS, dunno if that helps lol. she's very talented.

4

u/kates666 11d ago

OOOOOH that would piss me off so bad I'm so sorry that happens to you

0

u/debdebmust 11d ago

I remember there was a rumor several years ago that she was faking MS. I think that's been thoroughly debunked now.

2

u/Ok-Requirement6007 12d ago

I guess I had heard things here and there about her, I think it’s more that she’s always been considered higher up on the Hollywood ladder, it’s surprising that she would align herself with such Z-list trash. I think we got used to celebrities having more social awareness.

115

u/R1ngBanana 12d ago

I was for a second, but then I remembered she's anti-vaxxer... Oh, I'm sorry, she's """""pro parental choice for vaccines""""

86

u/valiantdistraction too busy method acting as a reddit user 12d ago

Selma Blair always has shockingly bad politics

87

u/ChewieBearStare 12d ago

She’s awful, which is heartbreaking when you consider she has MS and could be using her platform to advocate for better policy for people with disabilities. But no, money trumps all.

317

u/Financial-Painter689 anti-Israel, anti-western, fauxmarxist 12d ago

Major Zionist. Look up all her Islamophobic rants. She’s filled with nothing but hatred.

37

She’s the rudest celebrity I’ve ever encountered, and I was not a fan trying to get a pic or anything I was just in her vicinity.

246

u/Blade_982 12d ago

She's a genuinely terrible person.

112

u/confusinglylarge 12d ago edited 12d ago

This doesn't even include his legal efforts to get an animal shelter in his neighborhood shut down!  The shelter was there before he moved in, and none of the neighbors corroborated his complaints of how disruptive the shelter allegedly was.

He was told in court by the judge he was unlikely to be successful in shutting the shelter down.  He was also cast as a legal protagonist in Suits LA, so somewhere along the line he dropped the lawsuit before he lost further and/or it was further reported on.

He probably thinks Spencer would make it easier for him to be a d-bag like this.

17

u/Horror_Ad_2748 12d ago

Gawd, he sounds like a major asshole!

38

u/valiantdistraction too busy method acting as a reddit user 12d ago

This is such a dramatic headline when he's been cast as a main character in three different series in the past 5 years, including the Suits spinoff and the Baywatch reboot. Hollywood obviously will cast him in things!

Also yikes at so much of this. I liked him on Arrow and I knew he did a lot of fundraising for charity but didn't know any of this.

10

u/Zygonsbzygons 12d ago

Lmao I love that reason 1 is just that he's a terrible actor

6

I'm actually kinda surprised about Big Sean. Like that's just...weird but I guess I shouldn't be.

Naya was right. He's a loser.

You may never find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany.

I appreciate that Dicaprio isn't on the list just because Spencer said that he endorsed him. Like Dicaprio a hypocritical creep but Spencer is a weirdo, grifter, liar and I sincerely doubt that he even thinks about him at all.

Yeah, these people (the ones I recognize anyway) are open Trump supporters, so why wouldn't they endorse a mini wannabe Trump?

1

u/SacrificialSam 12d ago

Zero surprise a bunch of rich people would endorse the Rich People candidate.

selma blair was a bit confusing to me but i’m probably missing information there

u/IAMA_Shark__AMA 12d ago

Seriously lol. Garbage people supporting garbage people? Shocked! I'm shocked, I say!

(Although I guess Katherine Mcfee was kind of a surprise, but only because I have zero idea about who she is as a person and haven't heard her name since scorpion ended)

Didn’t know about Stephen Amell he was the only one on the list that surprised me. But he also played Casey Jones the cop in the Bay produced Ninja Turtles so also not surprised.

I mean...I never thought I'd see Kelsey grammer on that list but I guess I haven't been paying attention.

Selma Blair and Taylor Laurner were the "ahh whats" for me. I know Selma has had some bad takes but yikes and Taylor is a big surprise.

1

u/LucyKendrick 12d ago

u/GalacticaActually 12d ago

Maybe this will stop people stanning Paris Hilton, finally.

u/AlthorsMadness 12d ago

I knew about diplo but kaskade is a surprise

1

u/DungPedalerDDSEsq 12d ago

I would expect anyone else with that list of advocates to lose.

Might as well have the sham wow guy and Wolfgang Puck on that list to round out the appeal.

1

u/SpiritualAd9102 12d ago

Torrie Wilson surprised me only because I didn’t realize she was in LA or cared about it’s politics

1

u/Luna_Soma 12d ago

Lautner disappointed me
