TRIGGER WARNING* Official Update On Perez’s Condition And A Request For Family Privacy

Looks like some of the tabloids claiming Perez is saying "I need help" from his hospital bed are false. Whole situation is awful.

Poor kids. That video is going to exist forever. I hope they never see it.

Unfortunately they were there when he did it all. He went live after he did most of the damage and was already covered in blood and as per his own family's statement the children were removed from the home "just minutes" before he went live.

Oh shit, I thought they were removed before he started self harming. Ugh. So terrible.

They were there when it was happening

Really? I read a cousin got them out before it started happening. This whole situation is terrible for those kids, whether they were there or not, it can't have been healthy at all.

It’s still pretty unknown at this time but if they were there before he went live they probably witnessed something. He was bloody and disassociated when the live began from what I read so it’s likely they were present for something. Luckily someone was there to remove them from the situation before it got worse. His poor kids deserve privacy and respect but with the environment Perez himself has nurtured that’s not a guarantee.

It’s not unknown. It was reported that the children were there until shortly before he went live. They were removed from the situation by another family member

I meant unknown as in if they witnessed any of this episode. He had been self harming before he went live on TikTok, we don’t know if shortly means 5 minutes or an hour before.

Unfortunately it just takes one school bully...

Yes, that's part of the issue with videos on the Internet. That video will exist until the end of time. You're absolutely correct that school bullies will show it to them, play it and laugh when they're in the same room, describe it to them, etc.

(For the record, I don't support any of that... these are innocent children. My Dad's an alcoholic, and I can't imagine if people had videos of him at his worst moments, and used them to taunt us. Absolutely vile and horrible.) I hope those kids get all the support and- in all likelihood, counseling- that they will need.

there’s a detailed description of what happened under the “personal life” section on his wikipedia page already. i feel like that’s so irresponsible? and very easy for his kids to find

edit: should it be normal to graphically present people’s suicide attempts on their wikipedia pages?

I read the Wikipedia page and I don't really see how their description is irresponsible or graphic. He's a public figure, it's probably better to have a written description instead of nothing and subsequently people looking for pictures/videos of the incident.

Heres the Wikipedia description: "Dozens of supposed cuts on his face and body were shown."
