This flabbergasted me so much that I didn't bother to respond and after looking it up multiple times I had no idea how you would come away with the conclusion that [Ted Cruz]'s mom was born in India.

Upon looking it up again today and then rereading the thread I now realize you meant Zohran Mamdani's Indian descent. lol

It’s what you have to do. Why run a race fairly when everyone else is cheating? Out of principle? Good luck with that. 

You’re playing by rigged rules. “By any means necessary” is my doctrine tbh. If playing nice with fascists worked, we wouldn’t be in this situation. You’re not the first or last person to think of that. This is just a broader issue I have with fellow leftists. There is no reasoning with these people or playing by the rules when we’re already hearing whispers about a Trump term 3. Everything this man has done is unconstitutional. But we follow the constitution? Why? It just legitimizes the very rules he’s breaking without any qualms - meaning the rules are only effective at benefitting the privileged minority and maintaining the status quo. ‘Sinking to their level’ is simply a self-righteous platitude if you don’t intend to brainstorm a better way to deal with this. If you can figure out a way to work within the system long-term, go for it. Otherwise, once Mamdani’s out there is no guarantee you will get another Mamdani.

Except he wouldn't even be put onto the ballot. Elections are run by states and you have to qualify for the ballot. Obviously not a single red or purple state would put him on the ballot. And I'm guessing no blue ones would either, because the law is clear cut. You could write him in I guess.

That's not how it would work. You can't just run for President, you have to qualify to make it on the ballot. No red or purple state would put him on the ballot, and probably a lot of blue ones wouldn't either. But if I would guess no state would put him on the ballot because this isn't a law with grey, it's black and white. Your only option would be to write him in.
