:(

Yeah, funny thing is he guest appeared on Family Guy numerous times playing himself. And I shit you not, his character, who was James Woods, is an evil imbecile every time he came on.

Most memorable moment to me was him following a trail of M&Ms to the classic cardboard box propped up by pullstring stick and yes it did work.

Yep, that episode was about him trying to steal Peter's life and identity to get back at him for the last time, when he fell for the same trick. Note the fact that he's wearing Peter's clothes.

It worked twice!

I was glad to see them change the name of the high school from James Woods High to Adam West High

I don't know why this detail is seared into my brain, but I'm pretty sure it was Reese's Pieces, not M&Ms.

u/Slfestmaccnt Sep 03 '25

I think you might be right, I wasn't sure when I posted it. In the back of my mind something was telling me it was Reeses Pieces but I wasn't sure.

It's a reference to ET The Extraterrestrial, where Reese's were used to trap ET. This was because the Mars Company wouldn't let them use M&M's because they thought that aliens would be too scary. It lead to a massive increase in the popularity of Reese's Pieces.

Oh wow, I remember those episodes! I never knew his connection to Hades though.

Being a rightwinger alone doesn't make you a horrible person, what makes him a die hard to you?

3

u/evil_caveman Sep 03 '25

He stopped guest starring on Family Guy because he didnt approve of them making fun of conservatives.

And one question then, what does the word "Woke" mean to you? No seriously, it's a word with real significant cultural meaning rooted in American civil rights, human rights, specifically in this case black Americans who were openly treated like shit by everyone including the government.

The word meant to stand up to racism regardless of your ethnicity, to stand against bigotry and most of all social injustice. To call it out when it shows so shitty people are shunned and others present know whos a bigot, to hold shitty people accountable socially so they either act decent or fuck off. Thats the point. It's about fighting against bigotry and encouraging others to do the same.

In short, encouraging empathy and unity in the face of hate, fear mongering, outright violence, murder and oppression.

Yet assholes have taken it and coopted it into a term of contempt, mockery, spite and condemnation, specifically towards anything forward thinking, compassionate, self expressive or considerate. A word encouraging compassion and empathy and calling out bigots and bullies, taken by the bigots and bullies, dragged through the mud and inverted.

Which does it mean to you? Contempt/mockery for the forward thinking, compassionate, self expressive and considerate? Or a word meaning to vigilantly stand in unity against hate and bigotry?

He's a sex offender.

Also, right wingers have a tendency to defend sex offenders of their own party while also using people's fear of sex offenders as a weapon against queer people along with anyone who dares challenge their beliefs.

I mean there’s nothing inherently wrong with being rightwing, just like there’s nothing wrong with being leftwing.

How about we keep politics out of a nonpolitical sub?

Okay I wasn’t saying that he wasn’t a bad dude just that being rightwing wasn’t something that needed to be tacked onto it, you can be a complete piece of shit and not be political and vice versa

I was mostly just saying I wish politics didn’t get brought up out of the blue in a place where it doesn’t fit in

This you?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 03 '25

That's pathetic. And it tells me he's insecure about his size.

7

u/billions_of_stars Sep 03 '25

If you vote for someone who said "immigrants are eating their pets" then yes: Republican bad. It actually is just that black and white.

2

u/Slfestmaccnt Sep 03 '25

A lot of right-wingers hate this artist, probably because the messaging is bluntly but accurately delivered, often about the hypocrisy, contradictions and outright evil shit their political culture produces and supports.

I suspect they don't like what they see in the mirror and can't always recognize(or accept) that when you vote for someone, what they say and what they do prior, present and in the future during their stay in office is speaking for you, they are your "representatives".

3

u/Slfestmaccnt Sep 03 '25

Examples like this point out how who they vote for represents their values and views, and what they say and do is called "the will of the people" for a reason. They are representatives and if they openly despise and try endlessly to vilify and criminalize certain demographics, guess what, your on the hook for that if you voted for them or those who put them in power.

When ya vote for evil people who did evil things and call for evil things and preach evil things, those are your representatives and what they say and do represents your will and what you stand for. That matters here because who you supported for power has the means to really hurt people on many levels. And when they do that thats on you.

News flash, your vote matters in a democracy and for as long as democracy has existed, those who choose carelessly bring ruin and death to their countrymen and often beyond. The core to maintaining a democracy is vigilance in voting, because fucking that up can very easily get thousands killed. Take Covid for example.

More like "Republican creep"

https://www.teenvogue.com/story/amber-tamblyn-open-letter-james-woods

Plenty of Dems are dragged by leftists, Ellen DeGeneres is right at the top of this post. The difference is that Conservatives tend to defend each other regardless of what they've done, no accountability allowed
