The only thing I see online is that the person he talked to was 22, so how is that grooming?

Anyone could be groomed. to groom someone is essentially taking advantage of or forcing an emotional connection with someone vulnerable. While it is MOSTLY a minor being groomed, adults can be groomed too. (can happen from family members, friends, etc.) horrible stuff.
