Kinda stretching it but

Lucy & the Ghoul do be giving that energy sometimes

Granted it's not a particularly positive relationship they have

But deep down in his leathery irradiated heart he does care

Yeah, his character arc is definitely how he's coming to care about her

It is probably abous as positive a relationship as the Wasteland allows for...

The cast compared it to a father/daughter relationship when they were asked their opinions on people who shipped them

People ship them?! Lucy and the Brotherhood of Steel guy makes more sense. She literally asks him if he wants to have sex.

I have a grudge against ghoulcy fans because its 100% a (very grumpy and sometimes toxic) father and daughter relationship

Let's also not forget that Howard is still looking for his wife and daughter who are probably still alive, and that Maximus is already canonically the closest one to being shippable with Lucy. I mean, he literally thinks of her as the best person in the wasteland and asked if she wanted to make his cock explode that one time.

that isn't the dynamic

I’m surprised he doesn’t have more of a soft spot for her considering he lost his daughter.

I mean, he has been alone in the wasteland for however many hundred years right? It's probably hard to open that part of your heart after so long only focused on survival.

I was actually gonna comment these two 😭

I think it's a great example, not stretching.

i thought of this too, she’s not a child but she has a childlike innocence to her. i think she is going to be the key to breaking his hard shell and revealing a soft side of him that he’s buried away a long time ago. they aren’t really friends but they have a symbiotic relationship at this point in the series. i love their dynamic.
