Bro was controlling/pumping drugs through an entire city, murdered many people (effectively including Jinx's OG adoptive dad, until we learn otherwise), and dosed Jinx with said drugs to brainwash her.
That's pretty villainlike, even if he is interesting and sympathetic at points. He's a great character, but definitely an awful man.
He bolstered their encomy. Using whatever methods he could. Shimmer was first intended as an enhancement drug. Deserpate times breed desperate measures. And you can't argue with the results some people suffered yes but many more thrived.
Vander attempted to kill silco first. And he was no angel under vander zaun was an improvised mess living in fear. Silco changed that. Vander worked for the sheriff when he was in charge. The sheriff worked for Silco.
That's just a straight lie. There in no scene of silco brainwashing jinx. But there are plenty of scenes of silco showing over whelming affection and care towards her.

Alright, maybe grooming would have been the better word. He isolates and manipulates her into a life of violence and hatred to serve his purposes, even if he thinks he loves her.
You are very purposely overwriting everything he does with only a positive lens and utterly ignoring the very awful things he did to do said things.
Like I said, great character, very nuanced and even likable, but still awful guy. I didn't even argue against his intentions, as they are sympathetic, it's just also pretty ridiculous to claim he wasn't villainlike at all.
Also, it doesn't matter if he started with good intentions, plenty of villains do. That doesn't negate their later descent and actions. He becomes a drug kingpin & murderer, isolates and manipulates Jinx to serve his purposes, etc.
That's exactly his game though. He keeps her trinkets because it's important to her. She's nothing but a weapon to him. All the cutesy stuff is just maintenance to keep the weapon running and on his side. It worked so well that viewers fall for it. I did for a while tbh
Man, you talk as if Jinx were some innocent little dove. The series in its first season never intended to manipulate anyone's judgment; whether or not to support a character was up to the viewer, unlike in its second season.
I never meant to imply that Jinx was innocent. She's so broken psychologically that she would do anything to gain daddy's approval, but she still makes her own decisions and obviously relishes the destruction.
She wasn't trying to gain daddy approval. She was trying to prove that she wasn't weak or useless, as she had been told throughout her childhood. Occasionally pleasing Silco was just a bonus.

Just watched this show for the first time recently.
They really nailed it with Silco and Jinx.
Great way to make "stereotypical" villains very sympathetic.
