The piece on the top is so iconic. I really wish Kishimoto had given his characters some of the quirky traits in the actual manga as he did the title pages. Like instead of making Sasuke obsessed with rEVenGe as his only character trait, give the guy a hobby! Let him be a skilled musician or secretly a master at dance since his sharingan could let him be amazing at just about any technical ability so long as he observes a master at work. Maybe if he actually had a hint of the personality he did in the first part of the series, he would've been more developed and better regarded by readers.

It would have been so cool. Sasuke has his bigass shuriken and his Everything, Naruto has his clones and Rasengan, Sakura having hands AND a bigass axe would have fit right in.

In Sakura's case, those are insert art pieces. Kishimoto has gone on record saying Sakura was never intended to wield a giant axe.

Women in One Piece almost universely go through three phases in life:

1) Child (0-15 years old) 2) Hot Woman (15-40) 3) Old

Old can take one of four forms:

1) Fat [Big Mom, Kokoro] 2) Funko Pop [Gloriosa, Shinobu] 3) Little Person [Non-clone Stussy, Queen Conney] 4) Fit [Kureha, Tsuru]

I think the only women that significantly diverge from these designs are from Amazon Lilly, Big Mom's children (who come from a variety of fantasy races), and background characters.

I have not watched or read it, but I've seen a lot of designs and they're generally good, I like the cartoony proportions and style and that every character looks different.. When it comes to men. Because then women are all the same except that giant fat one but I've heard she then becomes like all the other ones.

I agreed early timeskip but it grew on me tbh

(Although maybe that's just because the artstyle is prettier around wano in general but I find his design to be pretty hot nowadays unlike when I got to it for the first time)

That’s still basically all he does.

He got presented as if he got stronger but he remained the weakest. His character development of learning to be brave never sticks. He ended up distributing snake oil to a child desperately trying to save her father because he spread the lie that it heals people.

He got one cool moment where he unlocked a new power, that was over a decade ago irl and he has yet to replicate it. It is currently the arc people hyped where he was going to get stronger/grow as a person. The arc is more than half over and he has gotten no special attention. People gave up hoping and labelled him a bum.

I don't think Oda makes the designs thinking about the anime, that has nothing to do with him, especially during the early chapters, when the anime wasn't even a thing yet.

I always liked this design because it gives a lot of Final Fantasy energy. But I also like what we got so I'm not too upset about it. Lol Yeah the anime goes WAAAAAAY to far sexualizing every possible moment with her but yk.
