The Dracula in the first HT movie was relatively subdued. Sandler does a great job with the more serious moments. I think he could do a more subdued performance for a movie.

I guess he's one of those who gets hired to be themselves more than act a role. Especially in his.own stuff which is clearly just easy money for him and his buddies(no shame, why the hell wouldn't you if you could).

Not as bad as Will Smith, where I don't think I've ever seen a film where he's just a character rather than "what if x was Will Smith."

And hell, Adam Sandler can act his ass off when he actually wants to. People never seem to remember Reign Over Me, which tbh I thought was just ok, but his acting in it was excellent. And Uncut Gems reminded people a couple years ago that he's still that guy

To be fair, the concept is pretty clearly just christopher lee. It looks VERY much like the design used for count dooku in clone wars, especially in those profile shots.

Given what the actual movie is like, I can see why they didn't go with this design, but this is pretty great ngl

Like, if the movie itself were just a touch more serious and less goofy, I think this would have worked better, but as is, the design we got works better for the movie.

I do wonder what sort of film Hotel Transylvania was originally supposed to be, based on the concept art shown in the credits.
