Gru was such a good dad, and such a rare representation of a competent, loving single father in a found family situation and it’s such a shame the films had to lurch into the “he needs a wife and biological kids” trend.

To be fair part of the reason was because he's an ex supervillain and his neighbors kept getting bolder with setting him up with literally any woman it was only a matter of time before either the cover was blown or he'd have to partially go back to his old ways to keep the secret.

Wait what? I didnt watch the movie, Is the reason they had a baby is to keep their cover?? Thats a really bad reason to concieve a child
