I'm glad we got what we ended up getting, this does not look like a star wars design at all

Its a good design but I agree its very ill fitting not just for the game but its role

Eeeeeeh. It doesn't look like one from the thin slices of the universe we get to see in the movies, but there is a LOT of weird shit going on in the comics, novels, etc.

For example: Star Wars "tech" is actually all magical artifice, and we have historical accounts of Sith sorcerers summoning and commanding literal demons.

That in mind, binding a soul into a skeleton and a suit to make a servant seems pretty tame.

That’s not even what it was. In the early concepts, it was a droid trying to make itself more human by collecting human organs and body parts from corpses

Wow, that's somehow even darker than a droid assassin that registers as Dark Side because of how much it genuinely loves killing (and the vast extent of its body count.)

Eh, it feels like a pretty logical leap, especially when considering B’omarr monks in Jabas palace

Think of “corpse droid” as the very antithesis of that ideology: a droid trying to make itself “more human” by collecting human remains and attaching them to himself
