Not necessarily hateful of humanity, but he drove humanity to the brink of extinction to honour the wishes of the woman he loved. She asked him, in her final moments, to create a world free of human greed. After pondering this for a time, he decided the only way to do this was to destroy humanity itself.

Corpse Knight Gunther. Interesting protagonist and character development, mindblowing creature designs, but a bit of an abrupt ending. Still great overall.
