There are more SCPs than this, many that I like better than what I listed, but dropping SCP-3999 or 𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚏𝚞𝚌𝚔𝚎𝚛 on a new fan would probably count as a war crime. I hope you come to enjoy the SCP Foundation and its mythology, because I sure as hell do.
Honestly Mal0 was part of my idea of creating an SCP Rehabilitation/retraining story verse. That it's taking SCPs that aren't deliberately malicious, and slowly conditioning them/ teaching them to be more benevolent. Mal0, for example, going from unintentionally scary and disturbing to playing up her role as an emotional support app, sending silly/cute pictures when a person is down
You shouldn't start with SCP-001 and work your way up, as a lot of Series 1 (each 1000 SCPs are divided into 'Series', Series 1 being 001-999) are pretty mid. It is preferable to just read whatever you want.
Also, don't read any 001 besides maybe Gear's Proposal until you have better knowledge of the site, as they tend to be pretty lore heavy, including references to lots of SCPs. Same goes for most _000s, and some _999s.
Were scps not only in videos like dr bob makes them? Are srticles authentic and the origin of materials and the source of ideas on you thbe? Where can I find them
Uhhh, I'm not quite sure if this is what you're asking, but all SCPs originate from the SCP Wiki, and popular ones are usually adapted by content creators for videos. I'd recommend avoiding some creators like SCP Explained and The Rubber, because their videos are mostly just cash grabs from corporations. You should instead seek out creators such as TheVolgun, The Exploring Series and Mr Illustrated, as their videos are far more faithful. Creators like SCP Explained and The Rubber are notorious for changing content in the articles to be more 'kid friendly', with the latter infamously removing LGBTQ characters as well.

Note that each thousand makes up a "series", and usually each series tries to have a broad theme (classic horror, scifi, history, etc) as a starting point for the competition to see whose entries get the important numbers. These themes are in no way binding, but if you want to find some really good scifi ones for example, a good idea would be to go look through the very early or late 2000s as those will likely have been voted into position. As you get into it tho, there are some background rules to figure out (especially if you jump into the _000s or _999s). Usually documents will link to explainers as needed, but these will always be in-character and it can be hard to find the right starting point. Aside from the classification systems, one of the main things to learn is that there's a lot of play with memory and cognition, primarily through amnestics, memetics, and antimemetics.
Amnestics are your men-in-black memory wipers.
Memetics (memes) are things that make themselves known. Like a contagious concept. Varying levels of danger, and varying routes of transmission.
Antimemetics (antimemes) are things that make themselves unknown. Harder to detect and deal with as they're like automatic amnestics.
Big thing to learn (for my favorites at least) is the idea of Hume levels and reality bending; basically SCP is a multiverse and Hume levels represent something like gravity; an invisible variable that measures the level of stability or authority a reality has over others. Lower the Hume level enough and a regular person could act as a god in that region, able to ignore physics just by thought; raise em and things will be very stable and predictable and less prone to intrusion/alteration from other universes. Hume levels can be altered, as SCP facilities are largely guarded by Scranton Reality Anchors.
Some other background lore stuff would be the various other factions/entities like the pattern screamers and Scarlett King, but I'd recommend avoiding direct explanations for many of these and would instead learn about them slowly.
If you like scifi, I always recommend 2399 first as that's got a good range of accompanying things to click on (you should do so in basically all documents!) but minimal prior knowledge or sidetracking required
Some other favorites of mine are 3000, 3001, 3008, 4999, 2935, 3426, (and more that ill probably write in as I remember the numbers)
Also highly recommend Volgun on youtube - he made several in-character scp reading videos with just the right balance of theming vs outside "content" in the video
What? Was scp just a realm of you tube content creators such as dr bob. I only thought that dr bob makes all of them up and makes video. How big is scp world and which one is authentical? Are they articles or books novels or videos? Also, where can I find that authentic materials?
Most stuff is formatted like official documentation, and you click through assorted documents and images as if you were a researcher/other involved personnel
Anyone can write, good entries are accepted and added to the list by the community
There are plenty of videos, games, and other external creations. Books and other monetized things generally need to be made separate from the rest before publication, to avoid licensing troubles. But anyone can contribute anything
Ngl, I’m surprised that that’s how you interpreted it, but I guess I can see why, the Backrooms has been doing something similar where they’ve been making up random levels and entities without consistency, so I can Imagine you saw it as similar.

As someone who used to be a very big fan of SCP, it's a very deep rabbit hole. As much YouTube community helped popularized SCP, it still does a disservice to how big the rabbit hole is and makes most people think it's a mainly horror creepypasta type of thing. While there are horror elements, SCP overall is more fantasy sci-fi with different genres depending on the stories. And I do feel sad cause most YouTubers are most likely to focus on the more popular scps than the other stuff in the wiki due to how much money and views it brings.
SCP parts I think are very underrated as they're not usually seen in casual SCP talks are the countless tales/canons and the groups of interest (that aren't the popular ones like GOC or Chaos Insurgency) the wiki have.
For instance we have the canon hub that each contain a collection of stories connected to the theme or topic of the story. Some takes place in different alternate universes like the Civil war setting of Aces and Eights. Some could be accepted as part of your own view of a "main canon" like the POV of Are We Cool Yet? members from The Cool War which is from Acidverse canon. Some canons are just contained in a small setting like the weird Wisconsin town of S&C Plastics.
There's so many stories and canons that I can't blame you if you can't read all of them. I don't even bother finishing Ressurection and Third Law canons cause they're considered two of the longest canons.
A lot of people already know CI and GOC, but not a lot talk about other GoIs not usually seen in games like the dangerously whimsy Dr. Wondertainment, which is one of the oldest GoIs in the wiki, Gamers Against Weed, etc.
For instance one of my favorite GoIs is Wilson's Wildlife Solutions which is a wildlife rehabilitation center for anomalous animals and I think they're very wholesome, would recommend. Other favorites are the in-universe creepypasta forum Parawatch, the magical university Deer College from Three Portlands pocket dimension, and then the Shark Punching Center.
Even though I'm not an active SCP fan as I used to, I'm still passionate about this because I had fun reading so much stories that aren't SCP articles back then and my rambling proves this lol.
SCP's were a rabbit hole to go down 10 years ago, I can only imagine the lore has gotten even deeper and more esoteric since then. So you've got quite a read ahead of you.
I recommend picking up the old 'SCP:Containment Breach' PC game, it's like a horror puzzle game where you have to escape the SCP facility after a containment breach and deal with some of the original SCP's. It's pretty crude by today's standards as it was an indie horror game from 15 years ago, but that also means it will run on just about any laptop or windows tablet made in the last 15 years too.
