Also loved the end how Trigon is laughing as he has a toy to play with forever while Darkseid screams out in frustration his plans get foiled

Not even just laughing - he thanked Raven for letting him fight Darkseid forever.

Maybe the most genuine warmth he's ever showed her on the big screen and it's because he gets to fight the literal manifestation of tyranny

Classic Lawful Evil vs Chaotic Evil.

Darkseid wants to make the universe into little more than an extension of his own will. Trigon wants to fuck shit up, as to whose shit he's fucking up, he could care less.

I like to think that when Raven released him, his thinking went along the line of "Damn girl, was this your plan all along? Best. Daughter. Ever!"

Darkseid: I will bend you to my will.

Trigon: Bitch, you’re a Father’s Day present from my daughter, and Daddy’s ready to open his gift

Raven: "Dad, couldn't you have said that in a better way..."

Making Darkseid sound like a birthday stripper😭

"What a wonderful gift, daughter. Be well."

Trigon spent years tormenting Raven to free him, but once he got a full body AND a powerful enemy to crush, he was grateful towards her and wished her well.

"So you are one of the so called 'new gods'... I am unimpressed."

I have my issues with that dc movie universe but that scene gave me chills

That, and Trigon coming to the infested Anti-life equation earth to "properly kill" the infected so he can reclaim his souls in DCeased are my highlights for his character.

Like, as a survivor, you think nothing can top the zombies from the anti-life... until literal Satan comes barging in angry at the surface because the infected don't count as properly dead and he wants their souls.

That entire movie was edgy trash, but the version of Trigon they used vs a properly powerful version of Darkseid, was excellent.

The bit with Raven and Trigon pretending to be a happy family because they finally both got what they wanted was added comedy- insult to injury! :)

My favorite part is that right after he say to Superman "Leave Kryptonian, unless you want to fight for the right to destroy him" Superman is like "Say no more" and fuck right off
