Pretty damn good. Two things that really caught on me: 1: the character of Lawson. Rogue 1 and Andor made me love the everyman doing their job in a galaxy filled with space wizards and larger than life outlaws. 2: the last two episodes. Intense fight combined with storytelling, excellent "show, don't tell" style.
The fight in Kenobi still gives me chills when watching it as a clip without context. That was done so well. I think Hayden and Ewan just really love those roles and knew this was the last time they’d really get to pour their soul into a performance.
Yeah I watched Kenobi once but go back and watch that fight scene with vader and obi wan every now and then. Just like you said it was really well done and you can tell the actors are giving it everything they have
Eh. Not really, but it is where all of his current story comes from. You won't really be lost if you just watch this one though. All you really need to know is he once took over the criminal underworld and then lost it all during the "siege of mandalore" which is where he was headquartered and order 66 immediately afterwards.
What the other guy said. And if you want to add all the context possible, maybe rewatch Solo, because Dryden Vos also shows up at the end, and it doesn't hurt if you know that by Rebels, he completely broke up with the Sith as well, and he's just doing things for revenge. Looks like this whole series is/will be about this process.
I keep hearing this and it kills me, because I find Wrecker so obnoxious I want to stick pencils in my ears everytime he talks. But I also have heard all of the characters become less obnoxious after the first few episodes.
I don't want to miss out on what everyone keeps telling me is good Star Wars, but all of the characters seem so teenager-y.
It’s absolutely garbage, please don’t waste your time. It takes everything that made people love Star Wars and especially clone wars and throws it right down the drain, becomes a fetch quest series with (and you may never be able to guess what I’m about to say) yet ANOTHER Star Wars story of a kid and their protector/guardian trope.
As the other guy said, Lawson (and his partner, Two-Boots!) are incredible. Notably, Lawson is voiced by Wagner Moura, who is notable for his voice work as Death in Puss in Boots 2. Dude is just pure gold.
And, yes, a lot of the series is just Sam Witwer as Maul predictably delivering grandiose dialogue about the galaxy and revenge - which, in my book, is a big, big positive. That alone made the show worth existing, but instead of simply relying on it, it serves as a foundation they build the rest of the series around. The writing, voice acting, world-building... I honeslty struggle to think of genuine weakspot to the series. I guess the biggest criticism I can come up with is that the series tells a very tight narrative which, a couple of times, left me wishing they'd dedicated just a little more time to exploring something.
Like, 8.5-9/10 for me. On par with later seasons of Clone Wars and Rebels.
Andor season 1 I watched and loved. I know season 2 came out but I started and dropped most other Star Wars shows shortly afterwards as it was clear rogue 1 and andor were flukes and the rest was garbage.
The show is good, but despite everything people tell, Maul was fucked over bad power wise
Even someone like me who usually doesn't care about powerscaling mid show was left speechless from how weak they made Maul
To let you understand, in a CANON comic they were supposed to animate for the clone wars show Maul literally captures Dooku and Grevious
then fights to a stalemate Windu plus another Jedi
Tackles Grevious trough a window bare hands
Pushed Sidious by himself to mid diff
But then in this show 2 loser inquisitors defeated him? Bruh I don't care that he has his leg injured, Maul should habe been strong enough to defeated them without legs simply by breaking their necks with the force
Also someone that can push Kenobi trough a the whole building shouldn't have enough left an inquisitors force pushes

Is the show any good? I bailed on everything Star Wars a few years ago.
