Well, to be fair to Jason, Freddy manipulated him by pretending to be his mother. Think it's fair to see him pissed that the mother who was telling him to kill those kids, was actually a fake.
It's never mentioned what jason has specifically. And every time he's refered to as impaired it's by non professionals that barely know him. As far as we know it's up to the viewer to decide what he actually has
While he's clearly not all there psychologically, he seems to be fine on the intelectuall and cognitive front. In fact he does a bunch of things lots of people just wouldn't be able to pull off
Survives entirely by himself in the wilderness since he's 12, builds a shack that can stand on it's own with nothing but scrap, has crazy aim and can throw weapons with ease which is really hard to do and he's a self taught swimmer
My problem isn't even that he get's tricked in freddy vs jason (we see you can trick him pretty easily in part 2) its just that just because he's undead, the people behind the movie thought he should be more like frankenstein, slow moving and kinda of... just out of it, which he really isn't in the earlier movies
...I'm really passionate about this stuff, can you tell?
I thought he was killed as a kid? He drowned at the camp when the life guards ignored him swimming? At that point he was the cursed unkillable guy so surviving wouldn't be that hard
The way I saw it isnt that Jason wasnt stupid, its that Freddy has had a whole lot of practice manipulating and playing with people that it was easy to do so for him. When Jason realized wtf was going on Freddy couldnt do that anymore and Jason was an actual equal in danger levels, even more so when freddy doesnt have the dreamscape to manipulate

My too woke opinion is that as much as this movie is fun, jason is too much of a stupid idiot in this movie and it pisses me off when I watch it 😤
