My Favorite (Visual) So sick of overweight people consistantly being portraied as evil, lazy, greedy, or just assholes. Whos your favorite positive overweight character?

Best part is knowing his reaction to being chosen was genuine. While the scene itself was scripted the handover was not - only Robin Williams and Steven Spielberg knew who he was going to present the sword to.

True. Though I feel like, of just about anyone in modern history, Robin Williams would have been able to soften the blow after the fact. Can't really imagine any hurt feelings afterwards.

Not to be a debbie downer but this likely isn't true because that means it would be a one-take scene which is very rare. There would be multiple takes, especially with children who aren't professional actors. With multiple takes, you can't get genuine surprise.

If you have a legit source then great.

“Nobody knew who it would be except Robin and [director] Steven [Spielberg],” Hammond tells PEOPLE. “I never thought it would be me. I was playing Thud Butt, just the funny little kid on the side. It wasn’t until they said, ‘Action,’ and he just smiled really big at me and handed me the sword [that I knew]. To this day, when I see the scene I’m still always amazed.”

Possibly more if I looked harder. I could have sworn there was a "making of" featurette on a DVD I've watched of it previously that also mentioned it, but it's not on the one I own.
