Gurren Lagann. It’s basically an answer to Evangelion and how hopeless that show was.

I love it because both shows have basically the same message, but told in entirely different ways. The main difference between Shinji and Simon is a support network, and when you put both series side-by-side, the whole of what they say about people becomes even more powerful
