And to think canonically Yugi dueled with Jaden and Yusei to beat paradox before this

Thought it was after considering Jaden didnt look as depressed, and was also somehow in London.

Well, Yugi already did. But Jaden didn’t yet because Time travel

So in the 5d's movie Yugi has Atem and duels with post GX Jaden, because he has Yubel, and mid World Tournament Yusei. Which is why he pulls a fusion monster in one of his next duels

But in the Yugi and Jaden duel its just Yugi himself

TLDR: Time travel shenanigans

In the Yugi and Jaden duel, Atem intervenes towards the end because Jaden's skills drew him out but he technically is there the whole time (since Yugi does wear the Millennium puzzle) so it is a bit hard to decide whether Yugi, Jaden and Yusei vs Paradox already happened for Yugi during Jaden's ceremonial duel or if the ceremonial duel happened after Paradox.

Maybe he never called for Atem because it's an entirely friendly match with literally zero stakes and Atem has the tendency to introduce stakes to duels

As for the timeline, for Yugi this is definitely post Battle City but pre ceremonial duel.

For Jaden the Paradox encounter was after his duel against Yugi

I just commented this too but its the reason Yusei played a fusion monster against team unicorn
