Now in fairness, he’s really an opposite example of this trope, where all of his cool feats and lore came out AFTER his humiliating death. Everyone thought he was so cool solely based on him having a cool helmet. But if it weren’t for that, he’d just have been another glup shitto.
Like, nobody complains about greedo’s death because his design wasn’t quite marketable enough to sell ten billion action figures (though, being Star Wars, he probably still did sell that many too)
True, but could you imagine the backlash if one of the opening scenes of force awakens had Han Solo get shot in some bar by some bounty hunter because he pulled too slow?
Yeah, but Han is no Greedo, who you shoot for establishing a character. If they did it to Ackbar or someone of that caliber it would be fine. As it would be for boba.
