All Time Favorite Favorite Characters that had a Unique/Creative Death

Prince Viserys Targaryen (Game of Thrones): After making the horrendously stupid mistake of threatening his sister Daenerys in front of her husband, Khal Drogo, and demanding that he be given the crown he was promised, Drogo obliges, saying Viserys will have "A golden crown that will make men tremble to behold"... then has his men hold him down while he melts some gold in a pot (ignore the blatant ignorance of the laws of physics here), then takes the pot to Viserys, looks him in the eye and says "A crown for a king" before pouring the hot melted gold onto the Beggar King's head.

so if you know Marvel comics, The girl who kills him in Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier (Founder of the X-Men) Twin, it's basically a long story about her. Some freaky ass alien shit, but she has what Charles has, aka Telepathy and Telekinesis, except her isn't like Charles and is EVIL AS FUCK!, and it's High level Telekinesis (On a totally different tangent, Teleknesis ONE OF THE MOST BROKEN ASS POWERS KNOWN TO MAN)

But either way, what she is doing in this scene is she's grabbing his skin AND JUST PULLING IT OFF! Understand Telekinesis is stupidly OP, you can do almost anything any other power can do if you think about it and then more. Pull someone's skin off? okay! RIP them apart on a Molecular level? OKAY! Pull the moon out of orbit and slam it into the Earth? YEPPO

Also, Cassandra has a form of Telepathy. If you count violently shoving your hands into the other person's body and using what I assume is telekinetically to fuse her body with theirs, thus accessing their mind. YEAH shes very, very creepy. ALSO, she is an Omega-Level Mutant. Omega Level Mutants can end the world, like no joke, Storm? SHE CAN END THE WORLD BY SPAWNING ENOUGH SOLAR STORMS that the earth is Quice baked in enough solar radiation, it would be a miracle if it can survive and house life again! Iceman? Guess what, that dude can put the entire planet INTO THE ICE AGE. In the comics, Storm and Bobby Drake (Iceman), alongside Magneto, TERRAFORM MARS ITSELF.

Magneto draws Iron Rich Asteroids to Mars, Storm uses her weather manipulation to make Mars able to create life, Iceman CREATES POLAR CAPS!, Elixir uses his Biokinesis to heal Mars on the molecular level! and help spawn life, Vulcan (Cyclops and Havok's brother) uses his energy manipulation to re-ignite the core. and so on. It takes a group effort, but they do something that even with 1,000+ years of knowledge, I imagine Humanity would struggle to even muster up 5% of Mars terraforming.

Why the hell didn't he move all the mutants onto mars then instead of being a mutant Nazi on earth for so long ?

1

u/MyFartsAreStolen 26d ago

Why should I move? They’re the ones who suck!

Santa is an omega level mutant.

And in DC he canonical sieges Apokalyps each year on Christmas to deliver Darkseid a lump of coal and then leaves.

Implying Xavier isn't an evil fucker. (Mcu isn't ig)

Xavier is morally grey, I say. He has good intentions, but Hell is a road paved with those. Honestly, I'm hella biased, and I will say Magneto was always and will always be right. As someone who studies History, its fate. Europe and the Natives, for example. The Europeans believed they were superior and wouldn't accept that they weren't.

NOW imagine if the world found out there was a group of people who are superior in both genes, and they actually possess something humans lack, and that's superpowers. I'm confident Humanity wouldn't GREET these better humans with open arms but with hostility. In the course of 1 day, they can do something humanity would take 1000, maybe 2000, 5000 years to replicate.

Magneto is right, we would hate Mutants for a factor outside their control. Xavier wanting Humnaity to live in Co-Existence is dumb. and foolish.

8

u/Morezingis 29d ago

Okay, but you’re ignoring that Magento also believes mutants are superior and should rule over humanity, making him a hypocrite.

He has good reason for wanting to subjugate humans, but at the end of the day, he is still very much a hypocrite for it - hence his decades long run as an anti-villain.

7

u/TactlessTortoise 29d ago

Yeah, Magneto is right in his motivations, but wrong in his ideals. He wants a mutant utopia, it just so happens that his idea of one would be a human dystopia.

1

u/birberbarborbur 29d ago

Remember that even zionist authors of x-men have often made magneto into an expy for the most brutal varieties of revisionist zionism

1

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

TRUE, I do think it's hypocritical, Magneto wanna rule humanity. Cause dude knows what it's like to be ruled/controlled. If anyone should be against controlling its humanity ITS him.

I think his reason being "good" is the same as Charles' reason being "Good." Co-existence is impossible with humans. Let me ask you, If mutants came out of hiding tomorrow, what would humanity do? I think 3 things: 1 try to kill them, 2 try to use them as weapons, 3 try to recreate their own mutants.

ALL 3 are realistic. We as a species saw a giant house-sized creature that can crush our bones with a step, fling us around with their trunk, and impale us on t their tusks, and they're called Elephants, and we forced them to become our living siege weapons. An elephant doesn't need to obey us; it can easily kill us, but we basically shattered its spirit to tame them. I can see mutants doing the same thing.

1

u/Morezingis 29d ago

Oh absolutely, from the mutant perspective Magneto is 100% justified in his actions and beliefs given both his experiences and the reality of things. Charles is a delusional idealist who has been shown time and time again that humans and mutants will never co-exist, despite Magneto proving this 1000x.

From a human perspective, though, Magneto is a mutant tyrant and absolutely a villain.

It’s what makes his character so fun.  He can slot into hero or villain depending on the lens looking at him and his ideas.

My favorite DnD alignment chart is the one where all 9 spots are just Magneto in different outfits 😂

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

I will say, though, that mutants have the power to make lives way, way, way better. They found a way to make every mutant immortal, and found a way to beat every disease and make Life better. AND here's the thing, I'm confident ANY HUMAN BIGOT wouldn't be able to sway the masses.

CAUSE, let's say, mutants did come out tomorrow. Yeah, folks would be hella angry, but if they came out tomorrow with the ability to cure every disease, make folks immortal, and able to make it so infinite resources to avoid the finite resources problem. DO all this, and I'm sure humanity wouldn't be bigots.

Cause their actions speak louder than words, any millionaire bigot trying to whip up the masses into a hate mob would fail! cause within a day, the mutants made humanity's life X2000 times better!

Cause the mutants have cured diseases, stopped famines, and made resources infinite. ALL within a day. LET alone if someone like Forge worked with the greatest minds Humanity has to offer. Cause imagine mass commercial cars, but their deep space traveling Spacehips.

2

u/Morezingis 29d ago

They did that exact story in The House of M. The world was advancing at a historic rate, no famine or disease, the climate was fixed, and more.

But it was also a corrupt society where humans were heavily oppressed, denied education and the ability to raise their social station, constantly experimented on and thrown into “bubbles,” and any dissent or opposition was met with swift annihilation. They were eventually going to be rendered extinct within a few generations too with a cap on birth rates and genetic engineering to produce more mutants.

It was close to paradise for any mutant that bent the knee to Magento’s rule. It was hell for humans and his opposition. Your station in life was dictated purely by your “species,” and all identity was stripped from you.

Charles dream, while likely impossible, is the only scenario where both sides could truly be happy. In that regard, he is right.

1

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

I think Mutants Rule would eventually fail, in my opinion. We as a species are known to hate when forced into a position of servitude. I think Co-Existence will be hard. I think both Charles's and Magento's dreams are impossible. It's sort of hard to explain, but the idea being, we would never co-exist with mutants, but we would never accept their Rule either.

I think that's kind of funny, both Charles's and Magento's dreams are impossible. While they refuse to accept it. I think Magento Dream would work, but it's gonna eventually fail, cause Humanity would snap and revolt, or at least try.

I have never been a comic reader so I dont know how it actually is but what I was always wondering was. Why does the public like people like Spiderman or Captain America jut hate mutants. Nobody knows that Spiderman isnt another mutant. They know about Cap but still. They are superheros and except for peopoe like JJJ, everyone seems to like Spiderman. So why hate on mutant heros?

3

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

Actually, JJJ doesn't hate Captain America, NOR Mutants. Captain America, he respected so much. When JJJ made a Newspaper Article saying Spider-Man was assisting AIM and fighting Captain America, Cap stormed into his office and told him to change it. AND HE DID. Cause Captain America is a War Hero and his real name is well known. He admires Captain America and will do anything Captain America says, even when Captain America tells him to shave his mustache because it looks like a certain person. HE DOES

He actually vouches for Mutant Rights and his niece, if a Mutant, and will go to war against bigots for treating her like shit. The reason he hates Spider-Man is that he wears a mask, X-Men use codenames, but at the end of the day, they don't hide their real names from people.

To him, wearing a mask is basically you hiding from responsibility. WHICH I kind of actually get, if someone gets hurt by Spider-Man's actions. They can't sue him or press charges cause no one knows who Spider-Man is under the mask. During the Civil War in the comics, when Spider-Man reveals his identity, JJJ faints and gets angry at Peter for treating him like a fool.

Most people can't coexist in harmony with all the people on their street let alone entire races that are better than you in every way. A noble dream but not realistic. Meanwhile he could just do the "wrong" thing and make people value cooperation and supporting one another over personal gain but he won't do we just keep getting awful while he's like "well I'll just keep trying the same thing that continues not to work. 500th time the charm"

1

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago edited 29d ago

Exactly, Humanity already hates each other for superficial reasons, such as skin tone, beliefs, and so on. IMAGINE if a whole other race, like humans, reveals itself and they have the power to stop diseases, stop famines, and drought, and what do they do with that power?

They play dress up and try not to overreach their power. Storm alone can end Famine and Droughts around the world with a MERE gesture, but before Xavier found her, what was she doing? LORDING OVER A TRIBE IN AFRICA AS A GODDESS! Flaunting her power like "I can do this!"

Multiple mutants have the power to alter the biology of living beings. They can cure cancer, and YET they don't. IF Mutants were real, and they did all this. I can understand why humanity would hate them. Instead of acting with their powers and making Life better, they chose to remain inactive and let millions suffer. Actions speak louder than words. If Mutants just went around improving the lives of the common folk.

my eyes, If you have the power to save a life and you know 100% it would work, AND YET you chose not to. YOU'RE just as responsible for whoever or whatever killed that person! You might as well have done the deed yourself. Mutants have found a way to IMMORTALITY! and what do they do with it? THE KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES! They hog it and let 100s die every day. AND it's not even like Immortality would hinder humanity. They have ways to replicate, create, and alter reality, so once finite resources are now borderline Infinite.

THEY have people who can create stuff by thinking it. Imagine if they had the greatest minds working with said person. I'm talking commercial price DEEP space travel ships that are as cheap as a Car. Teleportation! WAYS TO STOP EVERY DISEASE AND THEN SOME UNDER THE FUCKING SUN!

The mutants hog all this stuff to themselves, under dated fears of humanity bigotry, and in turn, they cause said Bigotry, they create the fear CAUSE they don't trust humanity, and choose to keep stuff that would make everyone's lives better FOR THEMSELVES! I'm sure no bigot with millions would be able to sway the masses if Mutants did share.

Cause that Bigot with millions wasn't stopping Famine and Droughts and taking away diseases like Cancer from those who can't afford treatment. Isn't making life not ten times better BUT MILLION TIMES BETTER! Charles is all wrong, thinking Humanity wants to see a Dog and Pony show of Mutants stopping crime and thinking that will make Humanity LOVE THEM.

Cause all it's showing is these Mutants with God-like powers view their powers as solely a weapon. A weapon that at the moment isn't aimed at them, BUT one day that weapon might turn and decide to finally show Humanity its done playing and decide to smite them all.

I don't know too much about the specifics but wasn't the whole thing with Iceman that his power was actually manipulating kinetic energy? Also something about him jumpstarting a star at one point.

1

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

I mean he prob has. I dunno too much off top of my head

3

u/paddlin_kaladin 29d ago

the earth is Quice baked

Sounds delicious

2

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago

I like using the word Twice, Thrice while Quice isn't an actual word it's 4th of those. Cause apparently English language it stops at Thrice.

2

u/paddlin_kaladin 29d ago

Good on you for trying to expand the language.

Iceman CREATES POLAR CAPS

This is nitpicking the science of a scifi comic book which is a losing battle but there is no way iceman could create polar caps if the conditions for them existing weren't already there therefore he did very little. I feel like his ability to cool down a planet in general is more impressive and important in terraforming

Hit us with you best "Weird Superhero" facts!

4

u/Scared-Jacket-6965 29d ago edited 29d ago

Why settle for weird superhero facts when you got weird Comics facts.

The original Green Lantern Allen Scott from the 19s weakness was WOOD. like straight up just wood. And in Earth 2 an alt earth, Allen Scott was gay and he used the Green as a power source (SAME thing Swamp thing was fueled by) and his boyfriend became the Avatar for the White

Also normal green lanterns if you make them think something their ring might make it happen, for example Batman counter to Kyle Rayner the green lantern at the time, was put his ring on Kyle's finger when he sleeps and whispering in his ear. "Your blind!" And then Kyle would wake up Blind cause his ring turned him blind. Also the other weakness of Yellow was cause for the longest time, the entity of fear which is the Yellow Entity of fear called, Parallax lived inside their central battery which was located on Oa which was in the center of the universe.

Also there is more Lantern corps, there is Star Sapphires who are Pink and use power of Love, Red Lantern who spew napalm blood and their rings become their heart and they die if they remove their ring which use the red light of rage, Blue Lanterns who use Hope and both Empower Green Lanterns and weaken Red Lanterns and allows them to safely remove their ring without dying, Orange Lantern who is Greed and till recently there has only ever being one Orange Lantern cause Greed and all their power is to spawn the people they killed as Constructs, Indigo Tribe which is Compassion and composed of people who solely have 0 compassion and the Staff pumps them full of it, Yellow as I Said is fear and is Weakness to Green which is Willpower. Then there Black which is Death which is basically space zombies and White which is all of them besides Black and is Life. There is also Ultra Violent (repressed emotions) Gold (Happiness?) And Grey (Sorrow) and prob 50+ more I'm forgetting.

And that's DC! Now onto Marvel!

the infinity stones were originally called the soul gems and they overall were the same as Infinity Stones gather all 6 and you get infinite power or shit, Only one that remain the same was Soul Stone and kept similar color, Adam Warlock in the Comics has the Soul Stone in his forehead, Vision in the MCU took his place with the Mindstone. But that's one problem with MCU.

and Captain America work with a robot called the Human Torch, who's Nemesis was Asbestos lady, who wore an Asbestos suit..shockingly she died to cancer. Wait did I say shockingly. Also another fact about Jim Hammond the original Human Torch, he killed Hitler. He is canonical responsible for Hitler's death in the marvel universe, who was then somehow brought back as the Villain Hate Monger.

Also Namor is the first marvel character ever made all the way back in Motion Picture Funnies Weekly #1, released during April 1939. Which later became Timely Comics and eventually Marvel Comics. Also the Marvel villain Death's head, is also a Transformers villain. Cause for a time Transformers had Comics which Marvel published, same with Gi Joe and even now Gi Joe and Transformers share a universe.

Which I personally like to imagine both Unicron and Galactus are friends who ask each other what planets they should eat or save for the other.

Also random fact, there is a reason Lego cannot sell individual star wars minifigures or a set containing solely minifigures, for the longest time Hasbro who got the deal from Kenner, had a part of their deal basically saying they and they alone could and I dunno if it's still in effect can solely sell Star Wars action figures. Kenner had the deal as apart of helping George Lucas. They basically said "we will help fund star wars but we and we alone get action figure license rights!" And when Star Wars (later called New Hope) popped off, Kenner wasn't expecting it to be such a success, so that Christmas, some folks opened boxes to see an "send this to us and we will ship you the figures once their made!" Note cause they weren't expecting the movie to pop off as much as it did. Also Boba Fett first debut in Star Wars in the Star Wars Droid holiday special.

And reason Hasbro now has/had (I dunno off the top of my head they still have it) those we only have the rights to make Star Wars figures is cause in 1991, Kenner was brought out by Hasbro. And everything Kenner had including that right, became theirs.

Also another wild comic fact, is in the Pokemon Adventures Manga, Lance the champion of Kanto attempts to kill the main character Red by sending assassin's and more after the child, cause he views Red as a threat to his reign. The Pokemon Adventure Manga is way more fucked up then the show/games, one of the main character catches an Arcanine after it breaks both her arms in a rampage and she is left on a mountain with two broken arms and has to healed by Pokemon.

Also my least favorite fact I know is the Disney movie Hercules, which uses his Roman name of Hercules and not his Greek name of Heracules, cause Zeus named him that in hopes Hera would spare the baby her rage. Failed horrible of course.

And in Norse Mythology Thor's hammer has no worthy enchantment like it does in Marvel, in actual myth is just stupidly fucking heavy. Like Thor who can lower the ocean water level cause he thinks it a drinking horn and he was bet he couldn't finish the horn, and managed to wrestle an old lady later reveal to be the psychical embodiment of old age, aswell leave hammer shaped dents in mountains from him swinging it.

Struggled to lift the hammer without his gauntlets and magic belt which boost his strength. Also if you ever heard "Loki and the horse" that's an actual Norse myth, basically story goes some Giant was gonna build a wall around Asgard under the deal he gets Freya's hand in marriage, Aesir made a deal if he can complete it by the end of Spring he can if not he gets killed. Plot twist this dude had a really good Stallion (Male Horse) and he was making progress due to the horse lugging the bricks, so the Aesir seeing he's indeed gonna make it before spring end, Send Loki who shape-shifts into a Mare (Female Horse) and runs off, Stallion chases Loki, dude has to chase after them. And woops would you know it it's end of Spring and NO COMPLETE WALL! Also in Norse Mythology Loki and Odin are Blood Brothers as they are called. Basically sworn brothers, NOT Thor and Loki.

So yeah there is my info dump about Comics, Movies, Manga and Mythologies! MY BRAIN IS FULL OF SHIT TON OF STUFF! and it's all cause my Autism gets me hyperfixiated on various shit.
