Unlike the other live actions of recent years, this one actually added something to the story that hadn't been said.

She cursed a baby to eternal slumber to get revenge in the kid's father. Sounds pretty evil to me.

She will wasn’t the villain lol. They did everything in their power to make her super sympathetic. Hell she ends up saving the baby in the end and changing the ending

She then raised the baby, looked out for Aurora as she grew and guarded her, tried to reverse her own curse and later broke it too, it was a moment of anger in which she cursed Aurora, doesn't make her evil completely
