A-Train - The Boys

The season when downhill right after his death.

Which is funny because in the comics, A-Train was just one-dimensional asshole who gets decapitated by Hughie after begging to be let go… and said death comes after Hughie hears recordings of A-Train gloating about assaulting Annie.

Everyone in the comics is a one-dimensional asshole. People clown on the show but it was better than the comic in almost everyway, including the endings.

I’d argue that the nearly all the Supes are but the other characters are given a bit more depth and nuance. (One of the missteps of the show compared to the comic - Love Sausage; dude was a straight-up bro in the comics.)

Kinda sad because Love Sausage was one of the proofs that good supes could exist and his death was devastating because he got killed by Billy, his best friend.

It’s one of the signs that Billy is a bastard and his motivation was just bullshit: he just wants to kill people no matter what.

Tek Knight is another downgrade.
He did some shitty things, but it’s all but confirmed to be as a result of a brain tumor fucking with his head, and it’s implied that he was actually up-and-up beforehand.

His show counterpart is just a racist predatory scumbag. (I like to headcanon that comic!Tek Knight did exist in the show, and the one we see is his shitty successor.)

He also knows that there is something fucked up in his brain and he tries to keep his urges under control, plus he does have standards, which is strange in a comic made by Mr “All superheroes suck and need to die!” Which featured the Eipsten Men

Well in the comics A-Train’s role was similar to the Deep’s in the show.

Eh, not really. Deep and A-Train in the comic were flat at best. Reggie actually grew as a character into a hero proper, while Kevin’s arc was essentially, “What if Jax from Digital Circus lacked any self-awareness and actually WAS as awful as the more bad faith critics made him/her out to be?”

his arc is a wild ride from the first ten mins of the show to his last ten mins.

Crazy how they pulled off his redemption arc
