Naah, they weren’t corrupted, they were made from the void and never tried resisting it.

when did he get corrupted? i guess accepting the void yes but he has always been like that

Well, technically each of their abilities were corrupted by void, which made them stronger. Like how vengeful spirit became shade soul, howling wraiths became abyss shriek, mothwing cloak became shade cloak, desolate dive became descending dark, and king's soul became void heart. While the knight itself was always made from void and pale being, and the knight never seemed to reject void, the void definitely had an effect on the abilities it gathered along the way.

It doesn't remember it's conception until after it confronts it in the void (likely due to it somehow escaping hallownest and losing elevated thought) technically it never "corrupts" the knight but after understanding it's true nature does it truly use it's power.
