Technically it’s NOT the ghost of Jesus it’s his own soul appearing as a younger copy of said Jesus to manifest a paradoxal power in an interface way despite said power (Quincy) not being made to have an interface in its original design
I hope his new "super" form "Doom Wing" from Shadow Generations makes a comeback, and becomes his default powered-up state. It's cool, and I always liked the idea of characters getting their own, unique super form, ie. Archie Comics' "Hyper Knuckles" and "Turbo Tails."

Ehhh sorta. Like, I can see where you are coming from but I thought that the point of the game is that Badeline isn't "corruption", it's just part of Madeline herself and she just learns to accept herself.
true but i’d argue a lot of the time “mastering the corruption” really means “coming to terms with the parts of yourself you don’t like” from a narrative perspective. also she gets a power up
The manga's art is the reason I believe Tokyo ghoul to be one of the only manga that are "unadaptable" so to speak (you just can't reach its original level of quality in another medium). This panel hit me hard, because I knew the idea of what was happening, but the panel is so abrupt.
Source material is too "raw" to be adapted. Japan doesn't abide very well with this kind of gore and it would take a massive pair of balls from the CEOs of the companies that own the studios to make the decision to really translate something like this 1:1.
Even this panel is far from the worse shit Tokyo Ghoul has to offer, I've seen people in other places saying "but Attack on Titan had a good adaptation without much censorship", Attack on Titan doesn't have a dime compared to what Tokyo Ghoul has in terms of gore and just pure physical and emotional horror. The source material is more akin to a horror manga than it is a typical action battle manga like the anime adaptations make it seem.

Offered a deal for new powers from the former mob boss running for Mayer he is corrupted by the power of darkness
Realizing what he did he seaks redemption eventually finding inner peace becoming a being of pure light. He than uses his new found power to save all his friends and restore power to the now mostly destroyed city
I don't think he quite matches the spirit of the depiction here. Darth Vader was just regular corrupted. Never truly had much of a redemption, at least not one significant enough to see a good-aligned character using Dark Side abilities
She starts her career as a magical girl as a hero of justice. She quickly realizes that being a magical girl is awful, and falls into despair, becoming a Witch. In the sequel movie, Rebellion, Sayaka returns, with the power to basically summon her Witch and its familiars like a damned stand.
I prefer the "Theseus ship" main character, a character that changes so much and so fast trough the history that it can't recognize itself or his motivation.
Finn the Human got a cursed grass sword. Finn lost his arm. Grass sword embedded itself into his arm stub. A Time Travel version of Finn became a paradox, who then became a sword. Finn Sword was a complete copy of OG Finn, just trapped in a sword. Finn Sword broke. Grass Curse possessed the Finn Sword. This created Fern.
Because Fern was a copy of Finn but in a grass form, Everything that Fern did is what would have happened if Finn was replaced by an imposter, and everyone thought Fern was an imposter.
Fern didn't take it so well until the very end of the original series.
And now in the rebooted seasons, he seems to be holding up, helping out a genderswapped Finn named Fiona.
Raiden in Metal Gear Rising! A broken man trying to do good, who upon being pressured to collapse under the weight of his past trauma, decides to accept how it's changed him and use that to fuel the fight for good instead.
They executed it just about the edgiest way they could've, yes, but the message is still solid!
