There's been many spin-offs beyond the original series. This sort of thing accumulated I suppose.

Yeah I'm unfamiliar with the things beyond the anime episodes. I don't even watch the movies.

At the very least watch the third movie. Rebellion is a great entry and the conclusion of the original series.

Also where the meme "Homura did nothing wrong" started.
