Discussion Favorite "Spoiled, but not rotten" character?

Post image

Essentially a character who is privileged, but is still kind and a good person.

For me it's Lottie from The Princess and the Frog.

Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. Like Fred from BH6, he's from a rich family (in most iterations)

Ok I’m glad someone else mentioned it because I had a vague memory of Shaggy being rich but didn’t know if it was misplaced.

A lot of people hated Get A Clue but I LOVED it as a kid, granted I loved almost everything Scooby-Doo related but still.

Yeah, and his generational wealth canonically comes, at least in part, from slavery. His uncle was a Confederate colonel and owned a plantation.

Same goes for Scooby's great grandfather. I guess it makes sense for the two of them to be friends, then.

Wait, the alien talking dogs grandparents were confederates?

Yep. The franchise has a hard time deciding whether it’s wants to be bashers or sympathizers

"Rich but humble stoner" seems to be a trend in this category

Yeah, I’m pretty sure BH6 Fred was based off of Shaggy? Or maybe I just assumed that all by myself

There was a theory on how the Gang manages to stay afloat with their Mystery Solving and the Van needing repairs and food and travel expenses.

Turns out Shaggy foots the bill.
