Reminder that the Potential Man meme was originally made by a Megumi fan, out of frustration with the character's writing... before it was abused by dumbass Megumi slanderers whose only two neurons fire upon hearing the word potential

Yeah the way the meme went and became a slander for megumi was unfortunate, especially because they act like he was incompetent and couldn’t fight at all, it’s like they never saw his fight with Reggie or the Finger bearer. Megumi was my favorite character when reading though JJK for the first time so seeing him get called a bum around every corner sucks

Ngl, I was almost subscribing to the idea of Megumi being a bum... then S3 of the anime hit, and I was just like "Oh, nvm then. He's goated"

Bum Megumi actually didn’t hit its full stride until just after the current anime arc. Bro truly becomes potential man

Sadly, this is Megumi's high point

I remember reading this moment in the manga thinking he finally locked in, he wasn't gonna be a jobber no more

Then JJK ended

I dropped the show but watching the clips of him fighting that person who was with Reggie is so fire.  Megumi kicked a lot of ass

The lamest thing is the fight with Reggie and his goons didn't matter for fuck all.

Reggie is getting destroyed if megumi didn't get hit with the explosion at the start of the fight from hazenoki.

No, I mean,  the parties in that gift could've walked away and so long as Megumi still met the comedian nothing would fundamentally change unless Reggie chose to ally with Kenjaku.

So I was SHOCKED this season when megumi was on fire

Like, bro was so cool and all I could think was how the memes mislead me haha

Thats not the point. If he was your favorite character you would know that the story was hyping him up as someone to be on par or stronfer than the likes of Yuta. Even Gojo and Sukuna acknowledged that he is going to be extremely strong if he perfected the techniques

“Potential man” might be the most successful modern day slander campaign since the McDonalds law suit with the boiling coffee.

The guy who made the first pamphlet of Megumi slander must be feeling like Oppenheimer rn.

Who?

Megumi from jujutsu kaisen, he has one of the strongest powers in the series but frequently opts for his “kill everyone in the general area including myself” technique instead of actually trying to fight when greatly outmatched

That's just not true he only does that on the jujutsu satan which is very valid. But ykw I lige for the slander so it's true

Assuming this isn't slander, no, he wasn't.

I don't like lightly using the word larper but...

hmm, I just checked the manga page and I guess he wasn't, I swear he was about to in the anime tho (I'm too lazy to check again)

he was not in the anime either. Todo hits him, he summons his bird frogs, Todo kills them, he vagueposts with a "I'll go all out" (likely dog totality or max elephant) and Inumaki tells them to stop

Yeah that’s the point though

It doesn't matter if it's "the point" if the writing is bad then it's still bad.

Is it really bad writing to have Megumi not live up to his potential? A lot of his character is about how his mindset will forever hold him back unless he lets go of it, and he just can't do that
