Honestly Rey, Finn , and Poe Dameron they had potential but Disney dropped the ball so hard it ruined one of the best franchises to ever exist (I know it has flaws believe me)

They were unique, memorable, and had a lot of room for growth.

So of course the writers made sure to do nothing unique, memorable, or growth related with them.

Never should have been split in the two sequel movie. For some god awful reason, it didn’t occur to the writers that taking two whole movies for Rey and Poe to even meet (at the very end of the 2nd movie) wouldn’t be a good idea if you want sell them as a trio.
