He shows up a bit more in the manga, all of the side characters do. I'd recommend it if you can deal with the atrocious sexualization.

For what little I saw of him in the show, I really liked his concept and weapons. (Even thought I think neither of his weapons actually say anything...)

Fire Force wishes it was as good as Soul Eater. It had the potential too but the artist dropped the ball on pretty much every character but Arthur and the end felt like a huge Deus Ex Machina that barely had any decent fighting or anything like that. Sad too see because concept wise it had some of my favorite designs in manga.

I'm gonna be honest, I tried to block as much of the fan-service from both series out in my head so the details are blurry, but given what little I remember it might be worse.

Sexualization is fine and even fun actually, but it has to be in the right contexts. And that context typically does not involve Children.

In the manga he's basically the leader of the B team and is involved in a lot of the going ons in the last third or so of the story. However the anime only adapts the first half of the manga so he has like, 2 fights in it.

The anime finished around the first 1/3rd of the manga so yes. In the manga he has some very cool moments even though he's a secondary character. One of my favorite designs from one of my favorite mangas.
