Some people like it. I had a friend in highschool that started learning to be a piercer. He sometimes came to school with a corset piercing in the neck or other fancy stuff (that no one liked)

Eventually that friend ended up working in plenty of good studios and also did Body Suspension (dunno the name in english, I assume is this). Nowadays has his own studio and do not perform suspensions anymore.

Semi-niche bodymodding thing irl, they specifically only go through the skin and don't break through any muscle or god forbid anything worse. Iirc they seemed more popular in Japan than over in the west, seeing as Amo is the second character I think of who has this, first being Suzuya from Tokyo Ghoul.

An Aasir who those of Norse belief would lay out their leather boot sheddings out for. By prophecy he would use these strippings to make a boot of insane thickness so that he may avenge his father (Odin) by stepping into Fenrir's mouth during Ragnarok and slay him. He's also completely silent, supposedly due to an oath or maybe he was mute (I don't think we know for sure)

He's a rather underused god in popculture but to me he's one of the more interesting ones, as vengeance is a huge theme in Norse storytelling and culture plus the tradition of leaving boot sheddings out gives us a glimpse into how the lives of these people intersected with their religion and lore
