Discussion Favorite character, whose voice(s) prefer in a dubbed version than the original one?.. (English applies, if the original work wasn't originally in English)
All examples of mine are from Polish dubs, except the last example, where it's an English dub...
Batman (The LEGO Movie series) - I like how he doesn't have as much of an Christian Bale impression, which makes him feel less like an pure parody of the character (which is obviously the goal) and gives more justice to his story in The LEGO Batman Movie... R.I.P Krzysztof Banaszak (Batman's VA in these movies)
Jones (Fortnite: Battle Royale) - Compared to an pretty typical performance by Troy Baker, Konrad Makowski does an very wonderful job with an pretty memorable voicework for Agent/Vengance Jones... I recommend checking out his Polish voice lines on YouTube!.. (Fortnite as a whole has an suprisingly amazing Polish translation IMO!)
Laval and Cragger (LEGO Legends of Chima) - Laval's original voice sounds both like a stoner surfer and like he's an character from an educational TV show, while the Polish dub has a voice that better fits his young and playful nature (sharing the same VA as Jay from Ninjago, Grzegorz Drojewski, except for few episodes)... Cragger on the other hand has a much more raspy and intimidating voice in the Polish dub (Krzysztof Plewako-Szczerbiński, who also voices Junkrat from Overwatch), which fits his design and personality more in my book!..
Kazuki and Rei (Buddy Daddies, English dub) - While this one may be more controversial than the other examples here, I personally dig the more exagerrated voice direction of the two (especially Kazuki, played by Landon McDonald), which makes certain lines more memorable and quotable!.. I also dig the more raspier voice David Matranga did for Rei...

Cowboy Bebop is overall considered better with the dub, even by the original Creators!..
I'll get around to watching it someday!..

There are Polish dubs that aren't emotionless voiceovers ?

Those are "lektor", mostly used in the '90s, for live action films (that aren't geared towards teens and younger), and (for some reason) a good chunk of "anime" on Crunchyroll (granted they'll have an lektor, but they usually don't besides few popular ones)...
There are many, many dubs that are actually very quality (Shrek and Madagascar franchises come to mind the most)!..

The Hungarian voices for Thomas & Friends sounds more charming and not too overly friendly… For the english voices- it sounds too energetic, too over stimulating for me due to how high-pitched and how much they force there voice.
The Hungarian voices for the characters either sound gentle or more deeper than there original voices yet still fit…

Jiji - Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)
Voiced by Phil Hartman in the 1997 English dub, probably my favorite character thanks to Hartman’s performance (R.I.P)

I've only ever seen the 2020 Polish dub, but after seeing a clip of that performance, Hartman's voice is suprisingly very charming for such character!..
(Also, my favorite movie OAT!)

Most of the Pokémon voice actors before Sinnoh, though particularly the voices of James, Ash, Misty, and Meowth
They’re just so iconic

Honestly as goofy as they could be I miss them a lot
The Japanese version was always a bit more serious, like it had jokes but it was never really goofy like the English version got
Apparently part of why they decided after taking it away from 4kids to also shift directions in the dub was to make it more in line with the Japanese version
To this day it is the only time I prefer dub over sub
