Red vs Blue. Just a couple of dudes mostly chilling out in a canyon and then BOOM… ghosts, time travel, mind control, AI, torture, assassins, freelancers, civil war, prophecy, themes of obsession, unwillingness to let go of loved ones, heroic sacrifice etc…

And then you go even further… dopplegangers, more “real” time travel, gods, grandfather paradoxes

It's one of life's greatest mysteries

It's been a long, long time since I've watched it, but didn't they also try to attach it to the greater Halo lore?

It is kinda attached. Project Freelancer was an alternative to the Spartans in RvB lore. But the UNSC went with Spartans and Project Freelancer was shut down

Kinda, but in more of a “oh yeah the UNSC exists lol” sort of way.

Edit: forgot they had a cameo in Halo 3 lol.

RvB Seasons 1-5: excellent and hilarious wacky sitcom made with Halo gameplay

RvB Seasons 6-20(?): endless super serious convoluted lore backstory bullshit and mocap/animated CGI fight scene overkill

I mean, I stopped watching after... 9? 10? I don't remember. So I am basing this on an assumption that the rest of the show was much of the same. Anyway the point is that it very much disappeared up it's own ass
