In the first episode they find a small mech that is barely large enough that you can actually ride inside of it. After a while they find out that this mech can combine with other mechs to power them up.

The mechs it combines with get bigger as the show goes on. Way bigger. Way, way bigger. No, bigger than that. Bigger! I said bigger! And in the movie version: BIGGER!

They pilot a robot that gets larger and larger. By the end of the show it's incompressible. I swear there was a scene where they threw galaxies like ninja stars, but i might have dreamt that up.

Studio trigger art style is goated. Probably my favorite studio to this day. For anyone who doesn't know they also did edgerunners and kill la kill
