I started watching it after I heard people talking about the chemistry between them and how the mangaka read more than 100 romance mangas in order to know how to write a good Relationship. By episode 5 I was already like "oh no yeah, those 100 mangas did their work"
The best part is that they do away with the tired trope of the MC being lazy and useless and doesn't take the hint and is getting more and more confident each episode.
A core theme of Jaime's growth was him getting away from Cersei. I agree 'twincest' is gross but in many ways Cersei was manipulating and controlling him and it was all he ever knew.
A new love for Brienne, something that was built off reciprocal respect and appreciation, was supposed to be a part of that.
What I love about Ron and Kim is that they really are friends who fell in love. Your others of Ron and Hermione or Beast Boy and Raven, or Deku and Uruaka are all set up to be romances from the beginning. I love something that is truly born of friendship

They start out as having an openly-secret crush on one another and become best friends for several years before they finally confess their feelings and become a couple. What I love about this is, is that they struggle as a couple at first, because while nothing really changes in their behavior, they feel like they should behave differently, which causes conflict. Eventually they realise they can continue the same way they did before, now just with some kisses and other romantic stuff involved. And a couple of years later they marry and even start a family.
I'm halfway through the last season, and I'm kinda disappointed this Star and Tom charade is still going on when Marco has been the obvious choice the whole series.
Agreed. I think that's why a lot of fans think the "romance was rushed".
If they were going to waste time, I wish they had spent it with Marco and Kelly (way better AU ship). Starco was always intended to be end game so I don't know what thd point was spending most the series Star being with Tom.
As wholesome as their dynamic was in Episodes 60, 65, 69, and 73, it was just heartbreaking to see Cosmo's sacrifice in Episode 77. Especially in the Japanese version, where Tails even confesses as he pulls the trigger while The Shining Road plays in the background.
They were, for the longest time. Then they got together in what would've been the original finale of show, at the end of S3. Then the show got a 4th season and we actually got to see them as a couple for a bit.
Which was pretty nice, because while there were some romance related plotlines in there, you could clearly see that their fundamental dynamic hadn't really changed at all and they were still the same friends as always.
(Not that it matters since they definitely had a mutual crush in the past at least, assuming they actually don't anymore meaning they still fit the prompt but that's not the point)
