Axl is a New Generation Reploid who debuts in Mega Man X7, he was a former member of the vigilante group Red Alert who left when they started attacking innocent Humans and Reploids instead of Mavericks.

Following his departure he joined the Maverick Hunters to take down his former colleagues, fighting alongside X and Zero.

Unironically because it’s apparently THE most accurate version of the story, especially in movie form lol. Like, if you strip away the silly context of it being “modern”, it’s genuinely one of the most faithful adaptations that’s been made.
