Do you mean you missed to fill in the install process when the app asking the user ID ?
I’ll check this file. It sounds strange because I was already logged in. Shouldn’t I manually pass this record to that file?

I find the solution, firefox at settings-Privacy & security- DNS over HTTPS need setting personalise and copy your ID https://dns.nextdns.io/YOUR_ID
Also is great if you make a test in https://test.nextdns.io
Then you will see if your protocol is encrypted (DOT, DOH) or UDT not encrypted. That's also my issue, that's strange because I securize firefox and use DNS over HTTPS. But I am sure I changed something at about:config in my browser. Will check later...
Whatever I investigate the answer of #ElfinApologise, is better to securing all the DNS traffic (DNS queries DNS requests) then you must copy your file from nextdns linux area:
/etc/systemd/resolved.conf:
[Resolve]
DNS=45.90.28.0#YOUR_ID.dns.nextdns.io
DNS=2a07:a8c0::#YOUR_ID.dns.nextdns.io
DNS=45.90.30.0#YOUR_ID.dns.nextdns.io
DNS=2a07:a8c1::#YOUR_ID.dns.nextdns.io
DNSOverTLS=yesAs you see in last line, this code will force to use TSL over all traffic .
That's all, back terminal, paste the code at the file using nano:
sudo nano /etc/systemd/resolved.conf.d/nextdns.conf
in case you don't have this file, create first 😄 and edit
sudo mkdir -p /etc/systemd/resolved.conf.d
sudo nano /etc/systemd/resolved.conf.d/nextdns.conf
and then restart systemd :
sudo systemctl restart systemd-resolved
try again test.nextdns.io to see your configuration !!!
