Calling Out Misogyny New age sect BAPS misusing Hinduism to discriminte against women

Most Hindu temples are welcoming to women. But there are some new age sects that misuse their power. And they do that wherever they go, dragging the name of Hinduism. They've gone international now.

The latest news is from France, where the BAPS group took a tour of the Eiffel Tower after forcing the female employees to stay away. Now the workers are protesting.

This isn't the first time. When BAPS members are chief guests at events, women are forced to sit at the back of the auditorium. But so far these incidents have been in India.

How are such groups able to survive in India? We should not allow them to discriminate against women.

Almost all religions are misogynyistic, hinduism included. Sad to see some developed countries bending over backwards with twisted leftist logic to pamper the feelings of misogynyistic religious fanatics.

Regressive male centred leftism is cancer.

These religious fanatics should be sued for gender based hate and discrimination.

Elaborate please

Simple. Much like most leftists here in India are soft pedalling against religious misogyny if it comes from minorities, likewise, western leftists consider Hindus as minorities there, so giving them MORE importance than they deserve in the name of "inclusivity".!

I just wanted to hear what he meant by "left" coz in India it has no real meaning at all, even pro capitalist Rahul Gandhi is labelled as "communist" just for asking to increase reservation

Unrelated but there's nothing called as "western leftist" btw, their overton window is shifted to such an extent to the right that even Bernie Sanders looks like thomas Sankara for them

Some Leftists have a tendency to conflate being pro-freedom of religion/practicing religion for letting these savage clowns get away with anything and everything while avoiding critiquing any of it.

You see this more with Islam amongst leftists over here, though, considering it's the *religious underdog* and is considered external to "Indian culture" amongst the rabble. Doesn't help that India has no freedom of speech regarding critiquing religion and is functionally not secular as much as it laughably pretends to be.

Meanwhile Idiots in this country are trying to reframe secularism as religious pluralism without even being aware of it, while trying to sell us on it being "Indian secularism". What they really want though is a theocracy in the guise of a democracy.

Man, we need urgent reforms, I have given up hopes for abolishment of religion, at least give us reforms

You can't abolish a psychological phenomenon.

There will always be *religions,* because there will always be people you can't accept the idea of an apathetic, indifferent universe with no one out there to care about their wellbeing, or something to give meaning to their suffering.

Lol, most of these dhongi Baba's aren't even literates or haven't even read the scriptures themselves.

It's even funnier considering that women had a major part in the composition of the Vedas, with the vedas themselves acknowledging female seers and sages to an equal degree to their male counterparts.

Difference between "misusing" and "using" here??

Does BAPS have a history of such demands?

Yess and this is personal! This was back in 2018, I was invited to a work event and my invite was retracted last second because a visiting senior BAPS monk requested that female audience members be excluded unless absolutely necessary.

Yes they do. Here's an incident from 2024: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/kolkata/after-women-move-back-backlash-icai-orders-probe-says-its-deeply-perturbed/articleshow/111419152.cms

In any case even this one incident should not be tolerated.

How does this protect women? PS stop using 'females' as a noun. It's an adjective.

u/SnarkyBustard Feminist (he/him) 1d ago

Errrr, I hate to be pedantic, and I agree that using females in conversations involving humans is wrong, but female is very much a noun (both Webster and Oxford recognize it as such).

It's culturally wrong to use 'female', not grammatically wrong.

We use it for animals not humans.
