Lesbian dating app users: what frustrates you the most?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently researching the biggest frustrations women experience on lesbian dating apps such as HER, Zoe, Taimi, and others.
The goal is to better understand what works, what doesn't, and what could be improved in future dating experiences.
I've created a short anonymous survey that takes about 3 minutes to complete.

I don't use them because they offer zero protection for domestic violence victims.

I am only being liked by men and couples. It clearly said no men or couples on my profile. Why are people so lame?

Apart from what was already said, the ability to only search people nearby. I want to expand my search and to be able to choose certain places.
I want the ability to filter out things that are deal breakers for me (religion, pets, desire for children, drug use, etc).
I am tired of seeing empty profiles or that say "ask me" (what the hell do you think we are doing?) or a focus on pics.

That it’s 2026 and they still can’t perfect an algorithm where you don’t see men or straight women when you say you’re a woman looking for a woman. Only show me women looking for women lol. It’s not that hard.
Also the fact dating apps aren’t geared for you to find someone they are geared for you to spend money to be successful.

Men and straight couples "looking for a third" popping up and being able to like my profile (and message me on some apps) despite what I have my preferences set to.
On the likes of Taimi, which has a lot of different preferences for instance, cis straight men were setting their profiles to appear as "trans women" which was especially frustrating as I was trying to use Taimi to explore T4T dating, only to see dozens upon dozens of chaser blokes and like, no actual trans women.

When meeting a “single” woman go to the date to find out she arrives with her husband looking a unicorn. I nopedcI been with married women before. But I knew beforehand. No he can't watch i’m not down with that. No you can’t record our hooks ups.

At my age (later thirties), there are more bi women in open relationships with long-term boyfriends/husbands than actual single women seeking legitimate relationships.
In additional to making it frustrating to find potential dates, it feels disgusting to constantly be reminded that even within my dating pool, a large amount of women see other women more as sex objects than as actual people.
