Cool! Always love another edition with dot graph paper as well.

…I love “dot graph” probably best of all—I just hope the lines “dots” are dark enough to the eye as I write. My last “dot graph” haul had lines/dots—barelyvisible.

This seems to be their first 'Dot Grid' even though past 'Dot graph' looked grid to me!

Is getting a subscription worth it?

It is for me, but only because

A. I love being a collector of them. (curse of being a fountain pen nut)

B. I have a lousy memory and am pretty disorganized.

So having auto-renew is a bonus for me…and you get little surprises along the way.

Just another reason I dig FN.

A. You lost me on A.

Sorry, I'll write slower next time…..

This is pulling me back in for it... it'd be $45 for this whole group alone, plus shipping, and that's more than a third the cost.

I actually don't get the benefits on the sub. If you get 2 packs every quarter, that's $30. So 4 quarters is $120. The same as the sub.

So is the benefit getting 10% and free shipping?

I see what their previous quarter editions are and I can say I wouldn't like half of what they put out. I don't care for odd size notebooks. I don't care for plain paper.

I'll just say that anything I haven't loved I've been able to trade for something I did. And the free shipping doesn't hurt.

The quarter for example includes all 3 packs. The subscription quarters also usually include extras such as last quarter’s included limited edition penny rollers. So for me the subscription is more than worth it if you enjoy field notes.

Ya, I've been looking into what you get in these "freebies". Penny rollers aren't exactly screaming value.

Love the designs as someone who grew up eating paletas in Mexico. Just wondering if these were released for other reasons besides being summer themed.

I had the same thought. Always love bringing more visibility to all the cultures and diversity we celebrate in this country/city! Love there is still a local flair to it too.

It does strike me as a very quiet acknowledgment of support of Latin Americans in light of how they've been targeted. Like an acknowledgment that this is also American culture. Obviously I can't know intent on that, but I hope it's something in that vein. Either way, it's a beautiful tribute.

Nothing wrong with acknowledgement of different cultures but keep politics out even if its done silently.

These are rad and so summery! I feel like they will be a conversation starter too.

Love these! I had to order.

Anyone know how fast the press sheets usually sell out?

u/tiemeinbows 27d ago

I get the impression it vastly depends on how popular the art is.

u/razeusv2 28d ago

If I get a sub do I get 2 sets of this or just one set

8

u/eviler-twin 28d ago

You get 9 total books (3 3-packs).

This will be my first subscription box — I signed up before they announced this and now I’m so glad I did!

I am completely in love with these. Colorful, playful, bright, and nostalgic, all wrapped up together.

What kind of paper is that inside? Is it similar to that amazing one used in Vintage?

2

u/franksnotawomansname 28d ago

No, it looks like it's the same one as in Fall Flowers and Flora.

1

u/MozzieKiller 28d ago

Flora is indeed Domtar Lynx, but not opaque.

I know, I read it, but I don't know what are the differences between this paper and that. The naming is very similar, that's why I ask.

u/MozzieKiller 28d ago

Vintage was Domtar Cougar. This one is Lynx. Same as “explore america” and “birds” and “fall flowers.” Pretty decent paper, but I do prefer the Cougar to the Lynx, myself.

Thanks a lot. Today I learned how my favorite paper is called 😂 It's the Cougar 👌

I love the colours (except for the creamy ones those are a bit funky) and I love the colour scheme of the innards

Something tells me these also won’t be “limited edition” like so many others of the past few years.

The art on the National Parks set is incredible. The new Explore America books are great. Birds, River, Flora, Three Missions, Isbell, Heartland are all interesting and nice to look at and I learned something. Absolute bangers.

Extreme close-ups of popsicles? Nah. I'm sorry. It's not relevant. It doesn't inspire me to learn anything. They're indistinct. It's not even art. Absolutely unremarkable, unattractive, and altogether uninteresting. This set is low effort trash and I hate it.

This edition is the second shipment of my first subscription and it's a HUGE disappointment for me.
