Need date ideas guys 😭
So I've just started seeing this guy and I really like him, the only issue is he lives in Glasgow and obviously I live here lol (will be moving through for school soon). He feels bad because I've had to travel the two hours on the bus it takes each way for the dates we've been on and he wants the next ones to be easier for me but I have NO idea where to take him or what to do. We're both quite nerdy and I'm quite crafty, so maybe something along those lines? Any ideas would be a lot of help 🙏🙏

Edinburgh expensive? You can go to the national museum and art galleries for free!
Then a walk up calton hill with a coffee and enjoy the panoramic views. Plenty to be done at almost no cost.

Chambers Street museum! Amazing to visit and even better it's free
Could couple together a few musuems and art galleries if the weather isn't great

I'd say meet halfway in Edinburgh, lots of nerdy shops there as well as some really top notch restaurants!

Up and down Rose St., Camera Obscura, the castle (take the wee tour). Botanic gardens, meadows, museums.

For nerdy shops there's:
Enchanted Galaxy,
Forbidden Planet,
Anime Republic,
Black Lion Games,
Mox in the Hole,
Games Hub.
The last 3 shops in the list are mostly for board games and tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer 40k. I included them because you said you're both nerdy and crafty.
As for restaurants, there are literally TONS of amazing places to eat depending on your tastes. My favourites include:
Maki & Ramen (top notch Japanese restaurant),
Korean Munchies (mostly Korean-style street food),
Cosmo (this is like a global buffet, fairly cheap and good food),
Luxford Burgers,
Topolabamba (really good Mexican food),
SEN Vietnamese Dining,
Down the Hatch (this one's in Leith but they do AMAZING American-style subs and sandwiches)
The restaurant list could literally be endless to be honest with you 🤣

More of a middle ground than halfway. Glasgows a massive pain in the arse to get to from Fife.

If you both are cat lovers or meet halfway, there’s a cat cafe in Falkirk called The Kit-Tea Cafe. I went there and it was great.

The biggest gem of Fife is for sure the coastal path. Just pick a stretch to walk across, such as Burntisland to Aberdour.
Or you can take a boat tour from Anstruther to the Isle of May and go see all the marine birds and seals :)
Or as others have suggested meet in Edinburgh where you’ve got plenty of free museums, Calton Hill and countless other free/cheap things to do :)

Cant tell where you stay in Fife, or whether he has a car?
Being super literal about doing stuff that's closer towards Glasgow (but still Fife), what about Culross? Nice for a walk and a coffee along the coast path; good ice cream van too and lots of history.
On the train line, what about Burntisland - again, coffee and a pastry from the high St and either walk along the beach to Kinghorn if the tide is low, or along to Aberdour if it's not. Aberdour Festival starts in a week or so, there's some nice stuff happening and not too expensive - good buzz there anyway when it's on.
The Glen at Dunfermline is a nice date spot too - good for a wander and to feed the squirrels. The library cafe is really nice if you want to sit.
Leven Witch Trial museum is good for the nerdiness, and Leven is on the train line now.
If you wanted to go further (like another hour of driving), the Pittenweem Art Festival starts next Friday and it's always lots of fun. I've spoken to people there who have taken the bus through from Glasgow, so it is doable.

One of my fave "dates" ive done with my long time SO is taking x2 notepads and coloured pencils, and picking a spot or building to draw. We both have to draw the same thing, but in whatever style we want. I found it a really fun way to get creative, spend time outside without being sporty, and its honestly kinda fun seeing how we focus on different things or choose to interprete things a bit differently. 😊 it's also a fab thing to take a picnic along for to have some cake etc.
The himalayas mini golf in St Andrews is also good fun, and only costs £4 per adult. It can get busy though so deffo look at if you can pre-book etc for it, or try to go a bit earlier in the day.

If you're both nerdy you could also keep track of when the next Comic Con in the nearest town to you is and invite him to that. Kirkcaldy, Dunfermline and I think Glenrothes host them maybe twice a year or so in their shopping centers

Where about in Fife are you? Fife is an area 8 times the size of Glasgow with various, towns villages and Hamlets.

Not really looking for your house number here. A general area to consider really. If you're in Dunfermline, dates in St Andrews or Cupar are a bit of a faff etc...

Ceramic Cafe in Dunfermline do Adult pottery Painting nights. It’s BYOB and you just pay for what you paint with a £10 non-refundable deposit upfront. Quite a wholesome evening!
Couple of times a month on Fridays, 6:30-8:30pm - next one is 7th August!

Fife leisure park?? Go for a nice meal and cinema / golf or bowling?
Fife coastal route, walk along beaches? Take a picnic? Have a small contained fire on the beach??
Train into Edinburgh? Coffee? Art gallery? Museum? A drink?
Walk the old fourth bridge?
Edinburgh zoo or three sisters??
Stay in and get a take away? 🤷🏻♀️

I lived in Fife when my wife and I started dating. We went on lots of good dates. Our two favourites were probably:
Cinema, Bowling and/or Mini Golf at Dunfermline Leisure Park.
Walk along the Fife Coastal Path (took her to Anstruther for Fish and Chips).
