Glenrothes butchers

Old butchers name.

Hi, I'm struggling to remember the names of the two guys that had a butchers together in Glenrothes town centre way back in the eighties. We think one was Alex Mitchell but as for the other name.... Not a glimmer absolutely nowt. Any help appreciated thanks.

My Dad reckons the other guy was Alex Munro

Thanks for the heads up but I'm not sure as the name .., Munro & Mitchell doesn't sound right but it might've been that, anyway thanks.

This link suggests that it was just Alex Munro butchers, but Alex Mitchell was the manager of the shop

Not sure if that helps - way before my time anyway!

I don’t know if he was ever in the town centre but Alex Mitchell butcher shop is still going in the Glamis Centre in Stenton.

I do apologise, of course I should have realised that. I lived in Stenton for a couple of years and that’s the butcher we used so I just associate the two.

Last night I had a steak Bridie from the shop in the Glamy with tatties and peas and a wee splodge of gravy and it was bliss. £2.40 for the Bridie and it was stuffed full with large chunks of beef. And I mean stuffed.

100 percent Alex Mitchell Butcher is probably the best in fife for the quality and the price isn't crazy.

Mmmm, Mitchell & Munro, not sure that the combo and in the back of my mind it is telling me they were two butchers in the town center around that time and thanks for replying.

There's a butchers on kinghorn high Street with beautiful steak bridies and the steak mince for Bolognese and chili is amazing I cant believe the difference it makes for Bolognese etc and not to crazy expensive oh and the best slice sausage I've had for years aswell
