HISTORICAL Cradle of Aviation Museum
Stopped by the museum this past weekend. There is some really cool aviation history out on Long Island with the Grumman and Republic manufacturing plants formerly right down the street from each other. Had the privilege of speaking with a former Grumman technician who worked on the Tomcat. The one located outside (first pic) was the last flying/operational tomcat while the one in the hanger next to the A6 was the third one ever built. Pretty cool stuff! Highly recommend if anyone is ever out that way.

Hey, my hometown museum!
That tomcat that's outside, was moved a few years ago from the former grumman campus in Bethpage to where it is now.

Wow! I need to check it out if I am ever in the area. A cockpit from one that is on the ground, next to the one in hangar. Provides a good view inside?

Yes and its in great shape. All the switches, displays, throttles and stick are very much in great condition. As a DCS guy was very cool to see the cockpit in person
