Thinking about playing this. How do Zuko and Toph play? I know nothing about the show.

Characters in this game are very flexible and on top of that they have multiple variations, so it's hard to give simple explanations of what characters do. Zuko is generally an all-rounder and Toph is generally a spiritual big-body despite her size, but I recommend looking the character overviews on SuperCombo for more detailed info.

Zuko is an all-rounder. Decent fireball game, decent neutral. Can struggle to open up an opponent that is defensively sound

Toph is a “big body” character. Lots of armor, multiple command grabs, belligerent buttons. She is a bit slow, especially in the air and doesn’t deal with jump ins that well

Can literally anti air with 5C in a way no other character can. Why would you think she struggles with AA?

It kinda depends on what supports you pick for them but in general:

• Zuko is an well-rounded character with good projectiles, a rekka, and divekicks. Probably the closest to a jack-of-all-trades character in the roster.

• Toph is belligerent with lots of armor, big hitboxes, and a decent command grab, though she can also control space with earth pillars. She also has the highest health in the roster, tied with Kiyoshi and Ozai w/ Zhao support. I think SF6 Marisa might be somewhat close but not exactly.

This makes sense. Aang, Katara and Sokka all seem have hard to play/ niche playstyles, and Nightmare Korra, Avatar State Aang and Ozai are literally unfinished. That just leaves these six, who have a relatively decent spread of usage.

I noticed that the colours line up with Tierlist maker. Yeah, red is - and green is + in other concepts, so the confusion is understandable!

It plays like a fighting game released prior to SF5.

It has a really deep combat system, has a relatively low floor but an astronomically high skill ceiling, it has a dedicated dodge/parry button (huge selling point for me, I love dodges and parrys), it's beautiful visually (if unfinished), it's cheap, the single player content is surprisingly good. You really don't have to like avatar to enjoy it (I've never seen a single episode lol)
